PRINCIPAL EOIR SYSTEMS ENGINEER Interact with other team members representing a wide range of disciplines to develop complex Electro-Optical Systems. You will work with customers to define system requirements and operating concepts, develop the systems architecture to meet the requirements, and guide the design team to execute the systems architecture. Responsibilities: Interface with Customers and Stakeholders to understand their needs and constraints and review customer specifications and requirements Generate consistent , complete , correct and operationally defined highest level system requirements, including cost requirements Perform trade studies, performance analysis, and cost-benefit analyses to determine the best means to meet system requirements Communicate the architectural vision Leads design engineers to ensure a robust implementation of the system architecture that meets schedule, cost, and performance requirements Analyze/troubleshoot designs as necessary Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements Generate acceptance test requirements Prepare and present proposals, technical reports, position papers, and reviews (both internal and external) as needed Prepare budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments Communicate clearly ( written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required Provide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel. Qualifications: Master of Science Degree in Physics of Engineering ( BS Degree in Physics of Engineering is acceptable with additional years of relevant experience) 10 years minimum experience including 5 years minimum as a System Engineer and/or Systems Architect Experience in electro-optical system design for high-performance imaging systems Experience in testing of electro=optical systems ranging from visible through long wave infrared Integration of multi-sensor payloads including allocation of manufacturing tolerances for design for manufacturability Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and optical designs and components, and their interactions in visual and infrared systems Good interpersonal and communication skills Ability to compete a technical project independently and mentor and coach other engineers Familiarity with PC applications like Windows , Excel, Word, project, PowerPoint, MATLAB, and MathCAD Additional Desirable Qualifications: Familiarity with DOORS Familiarity with modeling software like NV-IPM, NVTherm and Modtran U.S. Citizenship is required. OPTICS TEST ENGINEER Self-motivated contributor, working with engineering groups to develop and deliver optical product testing solutions for volume manufacturing. This position plans and executes the test development activities of assigned programs. Functions/Responsibilities: Develop DC, RF, and other Optical test systems, providing operational procedures required to transition these stations from low volume to high volume work centers Assists in developing technical roadmaps for new product test development, identifying risk areas associated with different roadmap options, summarizing advantages/ disadvantages. Ensure test station capability and qualification plans are executed and reported as modifications/upgrades are implemented. Defines test project goals, risks, costs/resources, schedule, and potential solutions that may be found. Summarizes test project results, including impacts to product yield, quality, throughput, and cost. Cross-functionally team with Designers, Engineering and Manufacturing teams to support new product introduction. Create, conduct, & analyze Design of Experiments (DOE) for development and production activities. Conduct audits, benchmarking & drive best practice methodologies to proactively prevent quality excursions as the technology ramps. Supervisory responsibility for Engineers or Technicians may be required. The responsibilities as defined are intended to serve as a general guideline for this position. Associates may be asked to perform additional tasks depending on strengths and capabilities. Required Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in microelectronic / microsystem / optical design or manufacturing SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or other engineering design, modeling or simulation software is desirable. Demonstrated hands-on experience with test development projects and volume manufacturing, based on a thorough understanding of the equipment and materials that are used in the semiconductor and photonics industries. Opto-electronic industry experience desired; preferably direct packaging/assembly/test experience. Experience with PAM4 testing is highly desired – if not PAM-4, then a similar technology with transferrable technical skills is a possibility. Candidates must have a strong understanding of statistics, process control and FMEA methodologies. Must have experience with writing of test specifications, reports and production documentation.
