As we look back on 2024, we are proud of the incredible community we have built through our 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐚𝐛. 🌟 Our Learning Lab offerings foster an inclusive and supportive learning ecosystem that nurtures personal growth, knowledge exchange, and solidarity within the violence prevention field. 🤝 This year, we launched a new course for practitioners involved in designing and implementing violence against children prevention programmes. Our #VACPrevention course helps you understand violence against children prevention principles and how to apply them for child-centred interventions. Men and boys play a pivotal role in challenging harmful gender norms, disrupting toxic masculinity, and promoting equality. Their allyship has the power to transform attitudes and behaviors that perpetuate violence and inequality. 💡On Day 13 of the #16DaysOfActivism, we celebrate male champions actively dismantling patriarchal norms and fostering a culture of accountability and equality. Effective allyship means centering women’s lived experiences, amplifying their voices, and ensuring their leadership guides change. ❓ What does survivor-centred care mean in GBV response? A survivor-centred approach is essential in creating safe spaces for healing and empowerment. It prioritizes survivors' dignity, rights, and agency, ensuring everyone feels heard, respected, and supported throughout their recovery process. This means acknowledging that each survivor’s journey is different and requires a tailored, empathetic response. 💡On Day 14 of the #16DaysOfActivism, we spotlight the importance of strengthening the social services workforce to implement survivor-centered care. We are at the #AWIDFORUM2024 in Bangkok, Thailand! 🎉 This week, we join feminist and gender justice movements and organisers at the #AWIDFORUM24 in Bangkok. We are excited to learn and forge ahead in strength and collective power to prevent violence against women and children! 💪 The AWID Forum is the world’s largest event, centring feminist and gender justice movements in all their diversity. This incredible global gathering brings together feminist activists, allied movements, scholars, funders, and policymakers to spark transformative change and reimagine feminist futures. 💜

Earlier this year, we created an animation unpacking the socio-ecological model and how it helps identify the most salient factors contributing to violence against women (VAW) and violence against children (VAC). 📽️ In the video, we dive into how this model highlights the interplay of factors at individual, interpersonal, community, and societal levels—and share practical tips for using the model to identify the most influential factors across these levels. 👉 Watch the video here: https://lnkd.in/eXZiuJjw
