On 19 November we were privileged to have organised and hosted a Roundtable with sanctions experts drawn from the North-West of England and the UK government. The Roundtable focussed on the current state of UK sanctions, the priorities of the UK government, and the key concerns of the private sector. The discussions were in-depth and conducted in a truly collaborative and co-operative manner. We wish to thank all those who attended the Roundtable for their involvement and contributions to a very informative event. Whilst the Roundtable was conducted under Chatham House rules we are pleased to be able to present a report summarising the key discussions that were had. If you would like any more information or would like to be considered for future invite only events organised by Sanctions SOS please get in touch with us on: enquiries@sanctionssos.com #sanctions #sanctionscompliance #uk #ukgovernment #trade #exportcontrols #sanctionsevasion Jeremy Round, Victoria Turner, Damien Edkins, Dr. Rokhsareh Vahid, MA, LLM, Freya Page, Steve Berry, Julia Grainger MCIEx, Liza (Lizzie) Pawlowska, Abbey M., Ian Bolton, Chloe Giasemidis

Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity here in Manchester to come to the monthly Manchester Sanctions Society Meeting and from the UK Government on their sanctions priorities for the coming year. This also represents a great opportunity to ask questions and have an open discussion with the UK Government on all things related to sanctions. Please also remember that the Manchester Sanctions Society is open to anyone (you don't have to be based in Manchester), however it is only in-person. Hope to see lots of people there tomorrow!

Last week on 16 May the UK Government announced an amendment to the UK's sanctions regime on Belarus, expanding the scope of the regime to include prohibitions on Belarussian aluminium. In this Belarus sanctions infographic, we explain the amendment, the impact, options for operating under exceptions and licences. We also set out how the risks as a result of these sanctions can be managed and mitigated. Just over two weeks ago we held the first in our Sanctions SOS ⚖ Webinar Series. The focus of this first webinar was on sanctions investigations 🔎 looking at it through a lens of counter-terrorism and counter-proliferation. We were delighted to have a panel drawn from our Visiting Experts consisting of Ross Savage, Daniel Salisbury, and Adrian W.. We are delighted to provide this short promo from the webinar. If you would like to watch the whole thing please contact us on enquiries@sanctionssos.com and we can make it available. Webinar two in the Sanctions SOS Webinar series takes place on the 19 June at 15:00-16:00 BST. The focus of this webinar is on the tricky issues of ownership and control. Our host Chloe Giasemidis will be leading a fireside chat with our esteemed panel of Ian Bolton, Freya Page, and David Wolber. This should be a fascinating discussion on a critical topic.
