In October, the CLOC Fellowship hosted its first PD Day for the 2024-2025 academic school year. All CLOC and TTL members joined us for a full day focusing on Purpose Exploration & Wellness and Sustainability. Highlights included sessions led by Chief of Staff Elena Milius and The Courage Campaign leader Ashley Mitchell, an energizing Afrobeats class with Lakeisha St Joy of Afrobeats Dance Boston, and a fireside chat on Wellness & Sustainability with Titciana Barros, moderated by our very own Executive Director Devin Morris. The day was filled with inspiration, connection, and joy. #EducatorsOfColor #ProfessionalDevelopment #Empowerment #CLOC #educationadvocacy #teacherrecruitment #teacherdiversity

A Community for Educators of Color & Friends to Connect, Build & Vibe.
About us
The Teachers’ Lounge seeks to drive unprecedented student outcomes by greatly diversifying the people, thoughts, and actions of the educational workforce in the Greater Boston Area and beyond. By removing the transactional nature and physical barriers associated with many recruitment fairs, The Teachers’ Lounge serves as a space for educators of color, and friends, to convene monthly to learn about opportunities and resources available to them. Community partners, including school districts, service providers, and guest speakers, are encouraged to attend several events each season, in service of creating lasting relationships that are mutually beneficial to our community and institutions.

Please join us in welcoming Robert Hendricks as one of TTL’s newest Advisory Council Members. Robert is an entrepreneurial educator focused on equity. After spending 10 years as a college instructor, high school teacher, and school administrator, Robert wanted to expand his impact on a national scale. In 2018, he founded He is Me Institute — a nonprofit that collaborates with education entities to recruit, retain, and retire Black male teachers. TTL Fam, do your thing and extend a warm welcome to him! #educatorsofcolor #TheTeachersLoungeMA #TTLMA
