This year, we've made a significant impact by safeguarding cherished landscapes, expanding national parks, establishing fresh community forests, and revamping playgrounds for better climate resilience. Our commitment to reducing the barriers between individuals and the great outdoors has yielded incredible results. Of course, none of this would have been possible without your support. Located just half an hour outside of Denver, the Elk-Bergen Property serves as a critical wildlife corridor and creates an opportunity for people to connect to the outdoors. We recently preserved this critical landscape which links over 4,000 acres of contiguous public land, opening doors for people to one day connect with public lands, trails, nature, and each other. Wetlands, meadows, and watersheds – oh my! 🌿 TPL’s protection of 569 acres at Sardine Meadow is a milestone conservation moment in California. In partnership with the Truckee River Watershed Council and Tahoe National Forest, the preservation of this landscape strengthens natural defenses against drought, fire, and flood, while ensuring clean drinking water and serving as a gateway to outdoor adventure. Hawaiʻi is known for its natural beauty, but our responsibility to protect access to the lands, parks, and waters that inspire so many, is often overlooked. Carrissa Moore joined our very own Bianca Clarke on stage last week at University of Hawaiʻi recently and inspired a crowd of future stewards to take care of the powerful places, that in return, take care of us. Thanks to UH Better Tomorrow Speaker Series for partnering on an incredible event. Learn more about TPL’s work in Hawaii here: https://lnkd.in/gxh-ipBe

Connecting everyone to the outdoors takes extraordinary partnerships, and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and Walmart have set a standard with two decades of impactful conservation through Acres for America! We’re proud to have partnered together on L Bar Ranch, which added over 54,000 acres to the Marquez Wildlife Area to make it the largest state-owned recreation property in New Mexico. Our efforts here are a real win for people and wildlife, providing thousands of acres of continuous wildlife habitat and ensuring access to nature for generations to come.
Cheers to 20 years! 🎉 NFWF and Walmart this week announced the 20th year of funding through the Acres for America program, one of the most effective public-private partnerships in the history of U.S. land conservation efforts. To date, the Acres for America program has helped to conserve more than 2 million acres across all 50 states, Puerto Rico and D.C. Check out some of the vital work we’re undertaking together to protect and conserve landscapes across the country.

Not only are we breaking down barriers to the outdoors, we're also bridging gaps. Together with Denver Mountain Parks (DMP) and Jefferson County Open Space (JCOS), we’ve helped secure 4,000 acres of contiguous public land just outside of Denver! What were once adjacent lands are now connected—for wildlife, for nature, and for communities. “By joining these two partners and their adjacent lands, we’re creating an unbroken natural landscape that benefits wildlife, supports ecological resilience, and provides residents with expanded access to nature," said James Petterson, Trust for Public Land’s mountain west region vice president. 👉 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/e8h9zg9b
