Our donors and fundholders have transformative impacts on Vermont communities. We want to put a spotlight on some of the incredible people who utilize VCF’s tools and services to amplify their local impact and create lasting change for future generations across the state. Lisa Cashdan and Peter Stein are perfect examples of this meaningful work. When they moved to Vermont 34 years ago, they embraced the landscape’s beauty and made a commitment to preserve it for future generations. Their philanthropy, through the Vermont Community Foundation, has supported land conservation, environmental protection, and initiatives connecting Vermonters to the outdoors—from Vermont Land Trust’s working farms to free park access for diverse communities. Relive 2024 with us! We and our 36 grantees packed a lot into this year! We welcomed a new director, awarded the most grants in our history, and hosted our annual celebration with Myra Flynn, Jane Lindholm, and Stacey Abrams on The Flynn stage. And if you can, make a last(ing) gift to the Women’s Fund before we bid this year farewell. Donate before year end (and anytime): https://lnkd.in/dCVwAU-W Music credit: Myra Flynn

What an unforgettable night! The Hug Your Farmer Benefit Concert lit up The Flynn in November, bringing our community together in a show of resilience, generosity, and support for our farmers. For the second year in a row, this powerful event raised funds for Vermont’s Flood Response and Recovery Fund, helping our farmers recover after devastating storms. Rich Price (of The Sweet Remains) served as producer and emcee, and Bob Wagner, the evening’s music director, led Grace Potter, Ryan Miller, Mike Gordon, Josh Panda, Kat Wright, and an all-star lineup of Vermont musicians for a night filled with music and heartfelt moments celebrating the strength of Vermont. Vermont’s farmers faced unimaginable challenges this year, but the outpouring of support from everyone who attended, donated, or lent a hand proves that when Vermonters come together, we are unstoppable. Thanks to an incredible match from an anonymous VCF fundholder, we doubled the impact of every donation, raising even more for Vermont’s recovery efforts. A huge thank you to Select Design for underwriting the event, The Flynn for hosting, Senator Bernie Sanders for opening the night, Myles David Jewell for creating this video, and the artists and attendees who made the night possible. Together, we’re building a stronger and more resilient Vermont. To our farmers: We see you, we care about you, and we’re with you always.
