Venture is a powerful word. It has many meanings but among them is our favorite: to proceed even in the face of danger. Although the corporate environment may not seem inherently dangerous, there are plenty of scenarios where internal innovators must push against the status quo. And oftentimes, that can be daunting. That’s where we come in: The ViB group exists to better equip corporate innovators to proceed even in the face of danger, or, in other words, to do venture.
The ViB Group looks at innovation through several lenses: our first is as corporate innovators—we’ve had a front-row seat to countless corporate innovation successes (and failures) and have walked-a-mile in the corporate innovator’s shoes. As academics we’ve studied innovation and innovators and as entrepreneurs, we’ve experienced first-hand the challenges of turning good ideas into successful businesses. Powered by both theory and practice, we envision a corporate environment where good ideas become transformational business units, where new technologies become enablers instead of stumbling blocks and where people have the skills needed to succeed in our rapidly changing industries. We help our partners create new transformative units in months instead of years by partnering in areas where they don't have the internal capabilities and supporting teams where they do.
