Ringing in National Ice Cream Day at NYSE with Cherries Ice Cream and The Working Assembly was delightfully sweet! A big thank you to Stephanie Dobbs Brown for this fun opportunity. Stephanie has been an incredible advocate for women and minority founders, providing them with opportunities to ring the bell and elevate their platforms. As she moves on from her position, we wish her all the best and deeply appreciate her unwavering support and dedication to championing others. You might be curious about our connection to National Ice Cream Day. In 2022, as we emerged from the global pandemic, The Working Assembly team sought a creative endeavor that was just for us. This journey led to Cherries, a historic ice cream shop from the 1940s, which was looking for a new owner to preserve its legacy. Since then, we’ve refreshed this neighborhood icon with new branding, learned the art of making the perfect soft serve, launched a general store, and fully embraced the world of retail. We’ve also figured out a way to naturally tie in our branding projects, proudly carrying women-owned and minority-founded products we’ve been fortunate enough to collaborate with, such as Bawi Agua Fresca, Partake Foods, NUFS, Day Out Snacks, Haven's Kitchen, NARRA, Sweet Nothings, and Sanzo. This unique venture has allowed our team to apply our branding expertise in real-world scenarios, providing valuable experience in pricing, margins, point of sale, and inventory. Running Cherries offers hands-on training that extends beyond traditional agency roles, enhancing our ability to design and create impactful work for our clients.
