I recently saw Luke Norris's post on the muted response from this industry regarding one of the largest planned obsolescences of the largest CAPEX purchases in technology history. Honestly, we've been doing the math behind the scenes for almost a year and realized that Apolo competes on way more than just GPU/hour. So, we pivoted very early. In finding our market, we continued to see massive GPU Rental business, or GPU market aggregators, popping up... and being funded. Because this industry has seen growth unlike any other in our history, the risks associated with this growth are equal in weight. Please read this article; I'm curious to hear your thoughts. #datacenters #datacenter #AI #GenerativeAI #GPU #GPUaaS #digitalinfrastructure #HPC #colocation #GPURental Apolo, Uri Soroka, Vova Soroka, Constantine Goltsev, Michael Gnesin, Oleksandr Danshyn, Maria Budarina, Katerina Bilokon', Dmitry Andreev, Jonathan Berney, Rimmo Jolly, Manmeet Singh Bhasin, Ken Moreano, Bill Torson, Tom Elowson, Chad M., Melissa Eckert, Kraig Ecker, Traci Williams Hancock

What's the future of #AI data center design? Chris Sharp, Digital Realty’s CTO, recently shared his thoughts at the inaugural #DCFTS2024 by Data Center Frontier. As AI workloads continue to push the boundaries of traditional infrastructure, discussions like these are critical to help address the challenges of power density, cooling innovations and sustainability in data center design. Chris joined industry leaders from Apolo, Critical Facility Group, Scott Data Center, and Schneider Electric to explore how collaboration and forward-thinking engineering are shaping the future of AI-ready infrastructure. I was struck by the latest podcast episode from David McCall and Bill Kleyman 🇺🇦 on The QTS Experience; two stand-up humans and leaders in our industry that I happen to have the pleasure of calling friends. The entire episode is a must-listen! https://lnkd.in/gm5tUdNe A couple takeaways from Bill's comments: 1. “What does it take to be successful for a data center in this industry? Power and #bravery.” I hear this expressed in many different ways across the industry, but the core message is always the same: We are in a transition, and transitions require innovative solutions for all critical facets of the data center. Bravery begets innovation. As an industry, speed is more important than ever before. Those that adapt and innovate with speed will survive and succeed (it rhymes, so you know it’s true)! 2. “What we are experience right now in this industry are known as micro shifts; a shift in the data center space every 30-60 days.” Microshift. A perfect word for what we’re seeing more and more in the data infrastructure industry. Now is the time to be not just a lifelong learner, but a DAILY learner. Take the time to keep up with the latest and constantly be educating yourself. 3. "Vision without execution is just hallucination ... find your vision and execute on it. Otherwise, it's just a dream." Nailed it, Bill. Find solid partners, and find the forward-thinking individuals who will help you execute your projects. We cannot lead the industry into the future alone. Collaboration with strategic partners is key right now. My final takeaways are that if you haven’t already, dive in. Jump into the industry with eyes wide open! Become a part of the incredible growth. Be ready for change and discomfort. Stay steadfast in your goals and collectively, we can both affect and drive change in the industry. This is a very exciting time to be in #datacenters! Thank you, David and Bill, for an extremely insightful episode. Loved the Buc-ee's, Ltd./gas station analogy as well! AI-generated videos are everywhere now, and while a lot of them are super cool, some are… let’s just say, a little misleading. 😬 Lately, I’ve seen a few videos go viral because people thought they were real—but they weren’t! 😱 Before you hit that share button on the next viral clip, here are 10 quick tips to help you spot those AI-generated fakes. Let’s make sure we’re spreading facts, not fiction! How to Spot AI-Generated Videos: 🤖🎥 1. Weird Face Movements. Awkward blinks? Odd smiles? Faces too smooth or too stiff? Yep, that’s AI. 2. Audio Doesn't Match Lips. If the voice doesn’t sync perfectly with the lips, it’s likely a bad AI dub job. 3. Wonky Backgrounds. Check the background for flickers or warping—AI sometimes glitches out there. 4. Strange Hands. AI struggles with hands! Look for weirdly shaped fingers or awkward hand positions. 5. Repeating Motions. See something repeating, like gestures or backgrounds? That’s an AI giveaway. 6. Too Clean, Too Perfect. If things look too polished, like flawless faces or environments, question it. 7. That Uncanny Valley Feeling. If someone looks human but feels slightly off… it might be an AI creation. 8. Overloaded Details. Hair too sharp? Clothes too crisp? AI loves going overboard with fine details. 9. Odd-Sounding Voices. AI-generated voices can sound robotic or lack emotion. Listen for weird pauses! 10. Where’s It From? Can’t trace the video back to a trusted source? Be skeptical and do a quick check. I've seen some EPIC videos get shared as if they're real. And AI does a great job mimicking real life. But be vigilant, check your sources, and follow that list. Feel free to share this list! #GenerativeAI #AI #GenAI Apolo | Michael Gnesin, Constantine Goltsev, Uri Soroka, Maria Budarina
