It’s the most wonderful time of the year! 🎶 Christmas is a beloved holiday here at The Arc of San Antonio, and our participants’ favorite way to enjoy it is with festive Christmas music. Last week, our choir carolers brought the holiday spirit to New Forest Haven Independent Living. Many thanks to everyone who helped our participants with rehearsal, they were amazing!🎄✨ #TheArc #TheArcofSanAntonio #IDD #Christmas

Enhancing the lives of children and adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities since 1954.
About us
Our mission is to enhance the lives of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc of San Antonio (TAoSA) was founded in 1954 by parents who wanted to create a network of support and services for their children with special needs. Throughout our history, The Arc has responded to the changing needs in our community by developing programs and partnerships that address the most critical issues facing people living with disabilities. Today, The Arc offers one of the largest continuum of services for children and adults with a broad range of intellectual and developmental abilities. The Arc has two locations in San Antonio: 13430 West Avenue, 78216 and 6530 Wurzbach Road, 78240. We serve over 200 adults each day. We play a distinctive role among social service providers in San Antonio. Each year our case manager and support services connect over 1,800 children, adults and families to a wide range of resources for people with disabilities. The Arc serves as a gateway to community services for many individuals and families seeking assistance for the first time. We provide a continuing source of information, referral and support during times of transition or crisis.

Faces of the Arc has always held so much meaning and value to us. Every year, our participants are always thrilled to see their portraits for the first time and their reactions are so worth it! 💙 Thank you Coppini Academy of Fine Art for capturing a moment of our participants being their joyful selves and giving them something they can cherish forever. Thank you to Jimmy John's for your wonderful donation of sandwiches, and Brandy and Geovana for putting the reception together for our participants and caregivers to meet their artists. We look forward to 2025’s Faces of the Arc! #TheArc #TheArcofSanAntonio #IDD #FacesofTheArc

We are thrilled to partner with the Texas Cavaliers River Parade for their 4th annual Cavaliers Cares City-Wide Community Service Day! Members of the Texas Cavaliers, along with their families, worked alongside The Arc staff and Board members to enhance our facilities, and showcase our dedication to creating an inclusive environment for individuals with IDD. We had a FANTASTIC time and cannot wait for our participants to see the final product from our day of service. Thank you, Texas Cavaliers River Parade, for fostering a sense of camaraderie in support of our mission. #TheArc #TheArcofSanAntonio #IDD #TexasCavaliers

Today was an exciting day for our participants. We officially opened the Snack Bar at both locations. This exciting opportunity is made possible by H-E-B Helping Here, and this program is helping teach our participants inventory management, financial management, administrative support, and customer experience. We kicked-off the exciting event with a ribbon cutting, and then the store was officially open for business. The Snack Bar will operate every Friday, offering routine inventory items, and on the last Friday of each month we will feature a specialty item, accompanied by a movie screening. #TheArc #IDD #TheArcofSanAntonio #SnackBar

This #ThankfulThursday, we are blessed and humbled with the kindness of Kym’s Angel’s Foundation and Yolanda Valenzuela for their passion and steadfast support of individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Just 8 short months ago, they provided critical funds helping The Arc to replace our roof at our Pam Stephens Center. #TheArc #IDD #TheArcofSanAntonio #ThankfulThursday
