This is what we get when men make decisions about women’s bodies. What makes a woman want to have an abortion? According to a survey by the Guttmacher Institute, money is a big reason why many women decide not to have more children. About 73% said they simply can’t afford it. With the cost of childcare for two kids now higher than rent or a mortgage in many areas, it’s easy to see why. Around 74% of women said having another child would make it harder to keep up with school, work, or caring for other family members. And nearly 48% pointed to relationship problems or not wanting to raise a child alone as a factor. Many women also said they want to focus on the kids they already have, knowing that having another baby could affect the care and attention they can give to their current family These statistics show just how much women are impacted after having children. What women need are real solutions—not their right to make decisions about their own bodies taken away. Cc: @berecker #ReproductiveRights #AbortionAccess #WomensRight #WomensHealth #TheCareGap

Did you know that Black and Asian women typically enter perimenopause 2 to 5 years earlier than white women? Research shows that Black women, on average, begin the menopausal transition 8.5 months earlier than white women. Similarly, some studies suggest that certain Asian subgroups may also experience an earlier onset of menopause compared to their white counterparts. These findings emphasize the lack of information, education and the stigma associated with perimenopause. Cc: @beginagain #Perimenopause #Menopause #WomenHealth #CareEconomy #TheCareGap

Could the lack of research, information, and education on perimenopause and menopause be enabling companies to exploit women in these categories with overpromising products? In the past five years, the menopause market has exploded, with over $10 billion spent on nonmedical treatments. From luxurious retreats and beauty products to wearable tech and unregulated supplements, companies are capitalizing on a significant gap in knowledge. Many claim to address menopause symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats, but experts warn that most over-the-counter remedies lack scientific backing. The truth? Many of these products fail to deliver, leaving women frustrated and burnt out. Addressing menopause with proper medical care—not empty promises—requires education, transparency, and a commitment to real solutions, not quick cash grabs. In our latest newsletter, we explore how women not only create the holiday magic but also boost the economy for small businesses, local markets, and communities—yet their contributions remain invisible in GDP calculations. It’s no surprise that women are the driving force behind The Holiday Magic—creating special moments for families through gifting, cooking, and making beautiful memories. But what might surprise you is that an imaginary man from the North Pole has taken credit for this unpaid labor for generations. Today, as the world unwraps gifts and celebrates, Mrs. Claus—the holiday magician—is burnt out. We’re in an economy where both parents must work to sustain their families. Yet, as moms—the backbone of care—join the workforce, the homefront suffers. From childcare crises to invisible and physical labor, moms are still carrying the bulk of the load. Society has ignored this imbalance and failed to offer real solutions, leaving moms to bear it all alone. A Big question we need to address: - How Can We Redistribute The Care Load? Menopause has been misunderstood for generations—once dismissed as hysteria, it’s still under-researched and poorly supported today. With only 3,151 certified menopause specialists in the U.S. for 50 million women, the health gap is glaring. Women spend 25% more of their lives in poor health than men and are less likely to have their pain properly assessed. Closing this gap could add 500 healthy days to a woman’s life. It’s time to prioritize women’s health! Cc: @tamsonfedal and @themfactorfilm #WomensHealth #CloseTheGap #MenopauseAwareness #HealthEquality #EndHealthBias #BetterCareForWomen #TheCareGap

“Women pour their lives into partners and so they LITERALLY exchange years of their lives by pouring into partners’” 💯 Women dedicate years of their lives caring for their partners, pouring their time and energy into supporting their success—often at the expense of their own dreams and aspirations. #InvisibleLabor #EqualityMatters #CareEconomy #GenderEquality #FairRelationships #UnpaidLabor #TheCareGap

To create the holiday magic, women often take on more unpaid labor—and cut down their paid work hours by 30%. This extra time goes into cooking, decorating, and caregiving, but the opportunity cost is steep: careers put on hold, lost income, and compromised wellbeing.
