💙 November 21st is Children’s and Teens’ Grief Awareness Day 💙 Today, we were honored to host a special gathering at The Children’s Room, where State Senator Cindy Friedman read Governor Maura Healey’s Proclamation, recognizing the month of November as Children’s and Teens’ Grief Awareness Month. Joined by State Representatives Sean Garballey and Paul Donato, as well as leaders from Wildflower, Jeff’s Place, HeartPlay, and Boston Children’s Hospital, we highlighted the importance of raising awareness and fostering compassion for grieving children and teens. “The Governor’s recognition of Children’s and Teens’ Grief Awareness Month is a significant milestone for our community,” said TCR Executive Director Jon Gay. “It reinforces the importance of grief support and advocacy for young people who are often overlooked during one of the most difficult times in their lives.” Together, we are making grief a topic of conversation and creating spaces where young people feel seen, heard, and supported.

This Children’s and Teens’ Grief Awareness Month, we had the privilege of visiting Andover High School, Wright Science & Technology Academy, and Browne Middle School to connect with students and staff. 💙🦋 Together,we created blue hearts filled with messages of remembrance and support, reminding everyone that no one has to grieve alone. It’s inspiring to see these school communities come together to foster compassion and understanding for those navigating grief.
