Have you noticed a shift in our industry? Data from Bluefield Research shows that there have been 334 mergers and acquisitions in the water industry in 2024. Specific data on mergers within the geothermal drilling industry is a bit vaguer. However, the sector has seen increased investment activity. We're right in the middle of Groundwater Week #GWW, so here’s a fun fact for you: Amid all the cowboy hats, you might have noticed another unique feature among the Groundwater Week crowd—the distinct colors of jackets worn by NGWA members. These colors carry significant symbolism. Here’s a quick guide: #1. Navy blue jackets identify current NGWA directors and officers. #2. Green jackets are worn by Master Ground Water Contractors (MGWCs). #3. Dark red or maroon jackets signify past NGWA presidents. John Schmitt served on the NGWA Board of Directors from 1989 to 1997, attended every convention from 1976 to 2012, and racked up an impressive 47 appearances.
