Congrats!✨
I am excited to share that this past Thursday I won the Next Up Designer Competition at Philly Fashion Week! 13 students from 6 colleges across Philadelphia created garments entirely with reclaimed materials from FABSCRAP, a nonprofit focused on keeping textile waste out of landfills and in the hands of sustainably focused sewists. I was excited to participate in an event so in line with my values and personal work as a designer, and to be selected as the winner was a great honor and culmination to a month of hard work. I am beyond pleased with the final look and the reactions it has received!
