  • 💡 "If your spouse doesn't agree to your financial plan, then you don't have a financial plan—you just have a good idea." - Dave Ramsey How true is this? 🤔 You might have the best financial strategy in mind, but if your partner isn't on board, it’s going to be an uphill battle. Financial harmony isn’t just about numbers—it's about teamwork, trust, and compromise. In my latest blog, I share a personal story of how my wife and I learned this lesson the hard way, and how we turned a heated money disagreement into a stronger partnership. 💬 The key takeaway? Open communication and mutual understanding are the foundations of any successful financial plan. Without that, all you’ve got is just a good idea—one that might never become reality. 👉 Want to turn your good ideas into a solid financial plan that works for both you and your spouse? Check out the full blog to learn how. 🔗 Link In Comments #FinancialPlanning #Teamwork #MarriageGoals #TheGoodDad #MoneyMatters #RelationshipAdvice

On a Mission To Write The Greatest Dad Book In History, And I’m Bringing You Along For The Journey

🚨New Blog Post: What Dad Type Are You? Growing up I always looked to the TV dads for guidance. Not because my father was inept he just wasn't Uncle Phil, Carl Winslow, or Danny Tanner. He was more Sanford and Sons mixed with a little bit of Dad from Everybody Hates Chris; which I love and respect. But the TV dads seemed to inspire in a way that real dads never seemed to. Once I became a father myself I realized that I was only as good as my examples and to be more well rounded I needed to formulate an understanding of what my options were because the fathering role was what I made of it. This is why I wrote this blog. To share with you all the different styles of fathering and to stress the point that there is no RIGHT way to father, just different ways. So as you read through this blog I want you to identify your skillset and then own it. Maybe you are more like Homer than Mufasa; I know I am in regards to my children's expression but I am a bit more Uncle Phil in regards to education and following through. Mix and match and find the style that works for you because that is the style that will; work for your kids. #bethegooddadyourkidsneed #thegooddadsclub #whatdadtypeareyou 🔗Link is in the comments

On a Mission To Write The Greatest Dad Book In History, And I’m Bringing You Along For The Journey

🧠My brain has been telling me to post this on social media; "You Do Not Owe Anyone an explanation for how you think, feel, and act....." But that is false I owe an explanation to everyone about everything; doesn't mean I will necessarily give it but it is owed. Here is why> "...my feelings are generated by others, and my actions are influenced by the environment and people around me. This interconnectedness means that everything I do resonates beyond myself, affecting those I interact with in significant ways. It's crucial to move beyond a self-centered view and consider the broader impact. For instance, when I express my thoughts, I should ask myself, "Who has shaped this thought" and "How will this shape someone else's thoughts?" When I react emotionally, I should consider, " Who sparked these emotions" and "How will my emotions affect those around me?" Similarly, my actions, whether big or small, have been influenced by others and once acted upon has the power to influence others' actions, creating ripples that extend far beyond my immediate sphere." - How To Be A Good Dad Manuscript Again I may not give you an explanation but one is due! Who we choose to explain ourselves too is a story for a different time 😉 #thegooddad #Iamwritingabook 📸: NEWYORKTIMES.COM

On a Mission To Write The Greatest Dad Book In History, And I’m Bringing You Along For The Journey

I’m 40 and a father of 4 and I’m about to call a quits!! 🙅🏾♂️ I’m 3 years away from an empty nest. Here’s where I sit! 👨🏽🎓When my youngest son graduates and heads off to college I’ll only be 43. And I’ve been a parent since I was 18 years old. I was a baby my wife was a baby and we were raising babies. Shouldn’t have been able to But we did it! There are a lot of things I’ve learned about parenthood in the last 22 years and counting. Here are the 4 most important lessons reflecting on how my family got here. 1. If your spouse doesn’t agree with your idea then you must wait. So much of the arguing in my house came from one of us proceeding with what we thought simply because we “really, really, really” believe it to be right. Being right is never better than being disregarded. 2. Love really does cover the multitude and that’s from a not so religious; “religious” person. But I learned where knowledge is lacking loving on each other sure helps while you figure it out. Remember love is, patient, kind, and all of that other stuff. 3. You must embrace your community. Anyone willing to pour life into your children should be worked into your child’s life. Counselors, coaches, spiritual leaders, other parents, friends, and anyone else who loves your family. These are the people that enrich the soil your child grows in. 4. Resiliency is the most important thing you can teach your children. Let’s face it life doesnt always work out the way we expect. Sometimes we have to be just as good bobbers as we are weavers and that is a skill that can be taught. Spend time teaching your kids how to think through the things in front of them by asking them challenging or self discovering questions. A point of view is much better than right or wrong answer most times. What are some lessons you’ve learned on your parenting journey? Let me know in the comments. If you like this sort of content then I invite you to join the Good Dads Newsletter. https://lnkd.in/gTMUjrEe #thegooddadsclub
