Thanks to Sparta Center Church from Sparta, Michigan these amazing volunteers were a huge help today and your support of the mission here at The Grocery Spot and The Thrift Spot are truly appreciated. We want shoppers to know that we are a DONATION based organization. It’s you the shoppers who help keep us stay open and growing by giving a monetary donation to help us purchase the pallets of food that we give away for FREE. Remember, to the individual reading this post your donation of any amount helps the mission of ending food insecurity. Thank you Karys Belger, 11 Alive News Reporter so much for your dedication to the mission. Your compassion for helping the community is enabling The Grocery Spot to accomplish our mission of helping families with making progress toward a healthier eating lifestyle. We want shoppers to know that we are a DONATION based organization. It’s you the shoppers who help keep us open and growing by giving a monetary donation to help us purchase the pallets of food that we give away for FREE. Nothing in life is absolutely free. Shoppers walk through our facility during business hours and hand pick every item they need for their families, which equals over $200 of food. Then walk right past the check out desk and don’t give not one dollar donation to help the mission. It be the entitlement and horrible attitudes we see daily. We were blessed with a bigger facility to house more food, of course we had to purchase more refrigerators and freezers to keep the food in - now we are dealing with huge utilities bills, but yet all the food we are giving away for FREE we are not getting any donations from the shoppers who get this food. We all have financial obligations but if you can spare $1, $5, $10, $15 whatever you can donate can help the mission. We’ve heard a million stories/excuses, sadly it be the one’s in the community who don’t help - outsiders of the community travel be the biggest supporters. Help us Help you….
