About us

The Institute for Management Studies (IMS) was founded on the belief that key decision-making managers from truly adaptive and innovative organizations must have access to new knowledge and thinking on a regular basis. Our value proposition, then and now is to deliver cost effective, convenient and consistent access to new information, knowledge and thinking by connecting leading-edge business thinkers with key decision-making managers in one day development programs held monthly in 15 cities in the US and Canada. The IMS Leveraged Learning takes learning even further through a blended approach, offering microlearning post-session support. This blended approach deepens learning and engagement.

  • A change in title alone doesn't magically provide a new leader with all the skills needed for success. And yet, almost 60% of managers never receive training for their first leadership role! Our team at IMS is here to change that. We graduated two cohorts from our New Manager Program in 2024 to RAVE reviews! We are launching the 1st cohort for 2025 on March 25 - do NOT delay in saving your seat! The secret sauce to this program is a blend of targeted, impactful 2.5 hour workshops with three of our best experts for new leaders - Ellen Burts-Cooper , MBA, PhD, MBB, Dr. Noah Barsky and Ann Tardy, CPA, JD, CSP AND personal and group coaching with hand-selected ICF-certified coaches with over a decade of experience. These coaches are well-versed in the program content and will offer reinforcement coaching to all participants on a monthly basis, along with assessments and personalized recommendations. We also have a 2nd cohort for 2025 launching on September 23, so mark your calendars!
