IRCON-Paras-PCM JV Wins Rishikesh Karnaprayag Rail’s Track Contract 🚀 Broad gauge ballastless tracks for the 125 km Rishikesh – Karnaprayag railway line project in Uttarakhand. A ballastless track system was selected by Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) as roughly 84.24% of the line’s route traverses through 35 bridges and 17 tunnels, including a 15.1 km tunnel connecting Devprayag – Lachmoli which will be one of the longest in the country. Ensuring The Stability of Tensile Membrane Structures - 2 In the current harsh weather conditions, where we are witnessing high-speed winds and extreme rainfall, the design and execution of tensile structures as per design have become all the more important. 🌪️🌧️ Over the past few days, we've seen some structures fail. These failures likely wouldn't have occurred if not for the extreme weather. It's crucial to consider all these factors when designing tensile membrane structures. Proper wind load calculations based on the structure's location and incorporating correct loads are essential in the design phase. Additionally, all possible load scenarios must be simulated before actually proceeding with the execution of the structure. 📐 Equally important is the use of specialized software for designing tensile structures. Tensile structures are dynamic in nature and should not be designed with software that cannot perform non linear calculations. Using the right tools ensures accuracy and reliability in the design process. 🖥️ Furthermore, the designer of the tensile structure must be a specialized person trained to design these kinds of structures and who understands how the fabric behaves. Not everyone can comprehend the dynamic nature of tensile membrane structures. This specialized knowledge is crucial for ensuring the integrity and performance of the final product. 🎓 Once the structure is designed, equal importance must be given to executing the structure as per the design. This includes selecting the right fabric type and ensuring fabric seam welding meets the design specifications. Connection accessories like aluminum sections and self-drilling screws need to be carefully chosen to withstand extreme weather conditions.
