Nafasi Fund's newest partner is the Atlanta Black Reparative Fund, an initiative through CommunityBuild Ventures, LLC. It started as a response to systemic inequities and the enduring legacy of philanthropic redlining. The fund infuses community-led grantmaking, Black-led nonprofit success building, and healing justice models to help Black communities in Atlanta heal. If you're interested in becoming a donor, please contact Natasha A. Harrison at natasha @ communitybuildventures.com. #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackLed #CommunityBuildVentures #AtlantaBlackReparativeFund #Atlanta #Reparations #ThrivingCommunities #ThrivingYouth #WeDoItDifferently #TMGTurnsTen

After a career in community organizing, law, and compliance, RARE Coaching & Consulting LLC founder, Aiko Bethea, was motivated to pursue equity work full-time with the increase of highly visible reports of police brutality against the Black community. RARE Coaching & Consulting also powers the RARE Chances for RARE Leaders initiative, which focuses on supporting leaders of color by curating safe spaces for them to connect. As we know, DEI initiatives and trainings are getting cut across all industries. Since 2008, Deep Center has addressed the detrimental effects of poverty on literacy in Savannah, Georgia. The Block by Block and Youth Leadership Team projects challenge and encourage YPOC to engage with language and their stories through writing, reading, and performance. The 10-month, writing-based participatory action research curriculum focuses on engaging youth in community research and planning. With our education systems encountering challenges such as book bans and decreased funding, organizations like Deep Center may be forced to pick up the slack. The three co-founders of Love You Cookie united to spread joy and support communities during the initial shutdowns of the pandemic and the murder of George Floyd in their hometown of Minneapolis. Today, Love You Cookie continues this mission by funding mental health programs specifically for people of color. You can give back too, especially with some mental health helplines expecting rising numbers of callers post-election, through their website at https://lnkd.in/gVWWjXCx #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackLed #LoveYouCookie #MentalHealth #BIPOCMentalHealth #POC #ThrivingCommunities #ThrivingYouth #WeDoItDifferently #TMGTurnsTen
