This morning, as the 17th annual Student Veterans of America NatCon kicked off, attendees gathered bright and early to volunteer at The PLACE in Colorado Springs, in partnership with our friends at The Mission Continues. Together, we’re making an immediate, tangible impact - and learning from each other in the process.
The PLACE serves young people experiencing homelessness, providing them with shelter, outreach, and vital services to help them find their way toward a brighter future. Their work underscores a simple truth: everyone deserves a chance at stability and growth, especially during life’s most challenging moments.
Partnering with TMC - a national nonprofit that empowers veterans to serve in their communities - is always a natural fit for SVA. Across the country, our chapter leaders volunteer with TMC service platoons, united by a shared belief in service and a commitment to leaving things better than we found them.
Today’s efforts are a perfect example of that philosophy in action. By teaming up with The PLACE and TMC, we’re showing how veterans bring strength, resilience, and leadership wherever they go - both on campus and in the community.
To all who volunteered this morning: thank you for setting the tone for #NatCon2025 and for proving once again that service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off.
Together, we’re building stronger communities and brighter futures. Let’s keep the momentum going. #NatCon2025 #StudentVeterans #TheMissionContinues #CommunityImpact #CharlieMike
