Earlier this week, the Point of the Mountain State Land Authority (Land Authority) Board met for its regular monthly meeting. Below is a recap of the action taken by the board during the meeting: ✅ Opened public comment for in-person and virtual participants. ✅ Recognized Utah System of Higher Education Commissioner Geoff Landward’s service on the Land Authority Board. ✅ Reviewed and approved FY24 financial statements through October 2024, which demonstrated lean spending and provided savings to taxpayers. ✅ Approved an updated developer-initiated sub-campus proposal review process, streamlining the process while ensuring a rigorous and comprehensive review by the board. ✅ Received a presentation from the Utah System of Higher Education on progress at The Point’s innovation district and its hallmark innovation facility, Convergence Hall. ✅ Received an update from Land Authority executive director, Michael Ambre, highlighting the project’s momentum as we prepare to break ground in mid-December 2024. ✅ Provided an annual Open and Public Meetings Act training as required by Utah Code 52-4-104. The Land Authority Board is scheduled to convene again on December 10, 2024. Members of the public are invited to attend in person at the Utah State Senate Building or participate online.
