Money, money, money 🙄 1️⃣ Food: Buying hay, storing the hay, keeping pasture, tractors, workers, whatever your management program is... 💸 2️⃣ Horse Tack: Who knew that a piece of leather could cost more than a designer handbag or a really good pressure water machine? But they deserve the best! 🐴👜 3️⃣ Vet Bills: Every month we don't spend money in the vet, it feels like we made money! Is this equestrian math? 4️⃣ Farrier fees: our horses have much better nails than we do, maybe it's all the pedicures... We complain a lot, but when the farrier doesn't come it feels like the world is coming to an end... 💅🐴 5️⃣ Blankets for every season: AND for different times of the day! 👗🧤 And the list goes on and on! But tell us something, truthfully, where would you spend all that money?? What would you even do? I tell you what you would, probably buy another horse 😂 So, take action and join our community, where we share tips on navigating the horse expense maze. 🐴✨ Hooves are the cornerstone of a horse's well-being! 🦶💕 🌟 Why Hoof Care Matters: The hooves are not just 'shoes' for horses – support the horse's entire weight and an alteration in their structure or balance can affect and cause problems in the rest of the horse’s body. Knowing when it's time to intervene is crucial, as missteps in hoof care can lead to serious injuries. 🚑🐾 🌿 From Wild to Domestic: In the wild, horses' hooves naturally wore down, but domestication changed the game. First of all, pastures, boxes and arenas do not provide same wear as they would get in the wild. And even if you take your horse daily on the trails, for some hours, the amount of walking that a wild horse does on a daily basis doesn't even compare. Second of all, in the wild, horses with stronger hooves are more prone to survive and therefore procreate. Domestication hasn't prioritized strong hooves, making it necessary that humans intervene in hoof care. 🛠️ Trimming Every 6 to 8 Weeks: Hooves need regular cleaning, inspection and trimming every 6 to 8 weeks to ensure the proper balance and growth control. This should be done by a farrier, although not always possible. 📖✨ Share this reel with a friend that needs to hear this. Hoof Anatomy 101! 🤓👁️ Outer View: 🦶 The coronet: From where the hoof grows! 🌱 This is important because any lesions that affect this region can impact the hoof's growth pattern and form. 🔄 The frog! 🐸 The hoof's most elastic, moist, and soft part, it's incredibly sensitive. Handle with care during cleaning and trimming. 🧡✂️ Palmar View: 👀 This is an ares that you can inspect while cleaning the hooves. Knowing these names is vital for effective communication with your farrier and vet. 🤝 🕊️ The white line: Where the inner and outer walls unite, it is a very important landmark, because you should only trim on the outside of the white line. 💪🏽🐎 Knowledge is power, and understanding every part of your horse's anatomy is a key part of responsible ownership! 🌈 Share this carousel with other equestrians, tag your favourite farrier pages, and let's empower our equestrian community together! 🤠🤝 #equineanatomy #horsehealth #equestrianlife #hoofcare101 #knowledgeispower #hoofgoals #happyhorse #rideon #equineeducation

Horse-Rider Bond: The bond between horses and their riders is a journey of trust, understanding, and shared moments. 🐎💖 As equestrians, we cherish the highs, conquer the challenges, and build an unspoken language with our horses. 🤔 Yet, there comes a moment when we must consider a horse's well-being above all. Sometimes, the greatest act of love is to let them move on. It's about recognizing when the horse's path diverges, and understanding that releasing them can be the best thing for the horse. This is what happened to Stephan, with the vet work he had less and less time to ride and he felt that having an athlete mare stopped just being lunged and giving some classes was not fair to her. So, he made a difficult decision and gave her to another rider so that they both could evolve together. Last week he got to ride her again and he LOVED IT! He loved her progress and felt even more confident in the decision he made. 👉 Sometimes, the greatest act of love is in granting our horses the freedom to explore new paths. So, today, we will celebrate the horse-rider bond. Have you ever experienced this bittersweet feeling of letting go? Share your stories in the comments and let's embrace the equestrian journey together! Send us pictures of the horse that marked your life 💬💕#equinebond #horseandrider #equestrianjourney #lettinggowithlove #horseriderbond #equineconnection

Reproduction Season is Here! 🌼💖 For us this is one of the best parts of the year! 🌈🐎 But, do you know what repro season really is? Did you know that mares are what we call seasonal polyoestrous? This means they only have reproductive activity during a specific time of the year, to what we call reproduction season. In horses this season starts at the end of winter and finishes around autumn. 🌷🌞 Why? Because of the pregnancy lengh! The breeding season aligns perfectly with the abundance of food, ensuring a thriving environment for expectant mothers and newborn foals. 🌾🍼 How? Well, nature has its own calendar, that is controled by light and temperature. In this case, longer days and warmer temperatures. Light is the most important, conducting the entire process through a magical hormone, melatonin. However, from temperature to stress levels, various factors can influence reproductive activity. 🌌✨ But wait, not everything is immediate! Between the major seasons, there is a period of time where FERTILITY IS REDUCED, the Spring and Autumn transitions. 🕰️🍂 Why does this matter? Because understanding this rhythm is the key to successful breeding. As we embark on this journey, stay tuned for a series of posts we are preparing to help you navigate the intricacies of equine reproduction. 📚👀 Ready to becomean expert on equine reproduction? 🔔 Heads up! From now on, we'll be sharing valuable information to guide you through this season. Don't miss a beat! Save this post and share it with fellow horse enthusiasts who need a front-row seat to this equine information party. 🎉👇 #EquineEducation #ReproductionInsights #EquestrianCommunity

You can do it too! 🚧✨ These are just the three general types of horse boxes, then there are endless possibilities to tailor every detail. So why not build the stable of your dreams? 🌈🐴 1️⃣ Standing Stalls: Once popular for working and military horses, now you only find them in older stables. Efficient for short stays, because they accommodate more animals and eliminate agitation risks. However, the low side walls and open-back pose limitations, requiring constant vigilance. Also, most of them don't have drinking fountains. 2️⃣ Indoor Boxes: If well built, they encourage freedom of movement and rest. Whether opening into a stable corridor or patio, these are the most common in modern equestrian living. Nowadays you can even order the different pieces and build them like a lego. 3️⃣ Outdoor Boxes: These boxes can stand individually or also open into corridors and patios. Depending on where you live in the world this might be the best option. However, orientation matters for protection against winds and sun exposure. Also, the roofs should extend beyond the entrance to ensure protection from sun and rain. The beauty lies in the details, and horse boxes are no exception. What's your preference, do you prefer the premade ones or are you always inventing new ways to make the boxes special? Share your insights below! 👇💬 Tag a friend who's passionate about creating the perfect horse haven and invite them to share their box-building adventures with us! 🌟👇 #EquineBuilders #HorseHomeDesign #EquestrianCommunity #HorseBoxVariations #EquineComfort #EquestrianLiving #CustomizedStables
