We had a wonderful visit and tour at the Ohio RecoveryCenter connecting with their executive team and staff. ORC provides evidence-based detox and residential care to those in need on a peaceful 50 acre campus in Van Wert, OH. They care deeply about their patients and the work they do. We’re proud to have them in the WOM community. Thank you Teri Falkenstein for making this visit possible!

Our founder says it is crucial to practice self care in order to prevent burnout when you are running your own practice.  “Prioritizing your own health and stress management is imperative to running a successful private therapy practice. We’ve all heard the phrase “you can’t pour from an empty cup” and no one relates to this better than mental health practitioners. While incredibly rewarding, therapy is an emotionally demanding profession that can lead to distress and burnout. In fact, research indicates that 21-61% of mental health professionals experience burnout, negatively affecting their own health as well as the quality of care provided to clients.”

What's great about this reminder is that we give equal validation to it sucking and you being able to do it. Both can be true. 🙌 It’s about allowing conflicting emotions to exist together. It's about doing the hard things. It's about sticking with it while it sucks because you know you can. #mentalhealth #therapy #mentalhealthawareness #psychology
