I am thrilled to announce that Thermedical has sold our first catheters for preclinical research. We have had many requests for preclinical research and we now realize that our catheter has unique features that can assist in many cardiac protocols. The Durablate can measure intramyocardial ECGs, it can pace map from within the myocardium, it can deliver medications intramyocardially, and, of course, it can perform SERF ablation. We are now taking orders to use the Durablate for preclinical research. Please contact me to discuss your interest. mcurley@thermedical.com

In the early years of the AcuNav introduction I had an interesting interaction with Dr. Haines. He had been using a different product and he did an evaluation of it against the AcuNav. He was the only EP who decided he did not want to switch. I felt he had very good reasons to stick with the product he had been using. I asked him to come to Acuson to speak with us about his reasons and, while he was surprised at the invitation, he agreed to do so. I felt the conversation would help us improve the AcuNav. I have always appreciated his honesty and his willingness to speak with an audience who might enter the conversation with an alternate view.
It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of our esteemed colleague, Dr. David Haines. Dr. Haines was not just a member of our Medical Advisory Board; he was a trailblazer whose unwavering commitment to providing the best possible care for his patients left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to work alongside him. His passion and dedication were truly inspiring. The loss of Dr. Haines is deeply felt, and his absence will be keenly noticed. We are immensely grateful for the wisdom, guidance, and expertise he generously shared with us. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Haines family as they navigate this difficult time.
