  • When Archer came to us for sales training we knew we had our hands full. The "usual" stuff wouldn't work. He needed something unique and tailored. We had to teach him how to handle rejection without freaking out How to build genuine relationships And not need so much approval from everyone While staying in the moment to provide value And take responsibility when things go wrong and stop blaming Cyril Lots of raw talent, but for sure a different training protocol than Lana Ms. Archer knew that...she tried all the one-size-fits-all training Mr. Archer needed something else.   • What do Braveheart & Deadpool have in common? Besides high levels of aggression, retribution, and incredible use of sword skills, very little. So why should they receive the same training? They fought in different eras, for different causes, and fundamentally had different strengths and weaknesses. The current state of sales training says everyone is the same.     Decision Makers and Economic Buyers are NOT the same thing And based on the scenario - you need one more than the other 👇 Economic Buyers can CREATE budget for good ideas or steal existing budget Decision Makers can only spend existing budget What happens when your solution goes over the expected budget? Your "Decision Maker" goes to the Economic Buyer for additional funds In order to do that they need to justify the expense This looks like: 1. An explanation of why one solution is better than the other 2.     I met with a 50m company last week that had decreasing win rates Both sides were skeptical about a possible solution, so we dug in: The metrics across the board pointed down So I asked them, was this the entire team, or were there some bright spots They said out of 40 salespeople 5 still had high win rates I asked why? They differentiated from the start and were good at creating FUD They are in a highly competitive market and their differentiator is expertise This was an “ah ha” moment for both sides, we can scale that behavior This is where we put a plan in place 1. We will watch calls and isolate what helped the winning reps win  2. We will document their approach and talk tracks 3. We will then customize value-selling training 4. We will roleplay to those exact things 5. We will coach calls to make it stick Before us, they were thinking of working with a “methodology” company Now they see that they need to figure out the root cause and solve that Not just toss more stuff at the wall Even if the solution you are selling improves win rates It doesn't mean the company is losing in the same way you fix things You need to figure out the root cause of the problem, only then can you say you can fix it That is where deals die, because the buyer is skeptical you even understand the problem This is what makes The Sales Collective different We use data and science to build our solutions.
