We know of many team members in Oregon who spent last night at their respective communities to ensure residents have what they needed, whether it’s shoveled walkways or hot chocolate. Oh là là! The Springs at Whitefish in Montana recently cooked up some incredible French fare for its inaugural "Dinner and a Movie" event. Residents enjoyed potato leek soup and lamb served with a side of ratatouille. Many thanks to the talented culinary team, especially Sous Chef Kaleb, who made this an unforgettable event for residents. Life enrichment and resident engagement professionals at The Springs Living embrace a holistic approach to resident well-being, spanning eight dimensions of wellness. Lilly Hillyer, assistant life enrichment director at The Springs at Happy Valley, talks about that intentional approach in the latest issue of Caregiver Magazine, published by the Oregon Health Care Association. In September 2024, Lilly received the OHCA Enrichment of Life Award for her innovative programs, including her demo kitchen events, which she says "might seem like normal programming, but it goes a little bit deeper to where we can have this space that residents feel very safe, supported, and heard." In 2024, we saw nearly 80 internal promotions across The Springs Living. Among them are Beth Mueller, Jeff Herinckx, and Jessica Webb, who have taken leadership roles in our communities in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Beth has been named senior executive director for both of our communities there. She has served as executive director of The Springs at Carman Oaks since July 2023. Jeff, the new executive director of The Springs at Lake Oswego, has worked at that community for five years, serving first in health services and then as assistant ED. Jessica has come up through the ranks over 11 years at the company and has been appointed to lead The Springs at Carman Oaks. Culinary teams across all 20 Springs Living communities recently participated in an internal photo challenge using cranberry-centric recipes. The result? A feast for the stomach and the eyes. The photo shown here of a spiced cranberry hot toddy cocktail, modeled by Jane, a resident at The Springs at Whitefish in Montana, was the contest winner. The Springs at The Waterfront in Vancouver, Washington, is one of three recently opened high-rise buildings for older adults in the Portland Metro Area featured by Urban Land magazine.
