About us

What is TheSumMeet? TheSumMeet is a platform designed to transform the conference experience for solopreneurs and entrepreneurs. It’s Q&A style community where users can post specific questions and receive answers from experts and peers attending the same conference. Instead of navigating a sea of faces and hoping to meet the right person by chance, TheSumMeet lets you connect directly with people who have the answers and insights you need. What problem does TheSumMeet solve? Conferences can be overwhelming, especially for solopreneurs and entrepreneurs who attend to seek guidance or meet experts. The traditional format often makes it difficult to locate the right people to answer your questions, leading to missed opportunities and unfocused networking. TheSumMeet addresses this by providing a purpose-driven, question-and-answer platform that connects users with experts and peers who can help solve specific challenges, turning every question into an opportunity for real-time support and insight. How does TheSumMeet work? - Post a Question: Users attending the same conference can post their questions, seeking advice or insights on a specific topic. - Connect with Experts: Anyone with relevant expertise can offer help to provide a unique, tailored answer. - Engage and Learn: Users can engage further by taking advantage of the access they have to attendees in person-- scheduling meetings, going for drinks, etc.

  • 🎬 Meet Jean Ly: Master Connector & Showrunner Extraordinaire 🎬 When chaos calls, Jean answers. 💥 From organizing the madness of a #24hourstartup to rebranding, re-marketing, and fundraising all in a WEEK, Jean proved that with the right vision, nothing is impossible. “When is this happening? • 🎨 Meet Samvel Atayan: Speed Designer & Creative Alchemist 🎨 When it comes to design, Samvel doesn’t just create, he transforms. As one of the driving forces behind The SumMeet, he took a blank webpage with a bit of text and turned it into a living, breathing platform in record time. No styles, no logo, no specs? No problem! Samvel’s journey with The SumMeet started with a decision: to lean into curiosity, trust a stranger’s vision, and see what could happen. Within hours, his designs gave the platform its first soul. And when challenges hit—like a full rebrand in less than a day—he didn’t flinch. He delivered. But what stands out most isn’t just his talent; it’s his perspective: 💡 “This wasn’t just about a product. It was about the people, the mission, the energy. We didn’t want to stop, and we couldn’t stop. We were on adrenaline, working together as if we’d known each other for years.” From late-night brainstorming fueled by sheer passion to media interviews and a $1M investment, Samvel was part of every step of this journey. His story is a testament to what happens when creativity meets courage, and when strangers come together with a shared purpose. Samvel, your vision, resilience, and heart have shaped The SumMeet in ways we’ll never forget. Here’s to building meaningful connections and proving that the impossible is just another challenge waiting to be solved. 🚀 #TheSumMeet #24HourStartup #DesignWithPurpose #CommunityDriven #CreativeLeadership #InnovationWithSoul #BoldIdeas #RealConnections

  • 💻 Meet Luis Roquette Valdez: The Core Developer, Code Wizard, and Platform Architect 💻 Luis wasn’t just part of The SumMeet team, he was its heartbeat! The “single point of failure,” as we call him, because without his relentless dedication, none of this would have been possible. From coding the first version in just hours to rebranding on the fly after a major setback, Luis turned challenges into milestones with sheer grit and brilliance. It all started with a simple LinkedIn click. A post. A message. And within minutes, Luis was driving to Lisbon, ready to meet a stranger with a big idea and an even bigger deadline. By 10:33 PM that night, the platform’s first version was live; raw, functional, and bursting with potential. Luis was not just a member of The SumMeet; he is the backbone of a movement, fueled by passion, community, and a shared mission to make real connections possible. • 🚗 Pitch Night: A Story of Trust, Vision, and the Power of Community 🚗 Friday night was game time. We were gearing up to pitch The SumMeet: our bold, unconventional startup born in #24hours. But here’s the twist: two hours before the pitch, Bruno had already backed us up. Bruno saw what we saw. A world that’s tired of shallow connections and broken social media platforms. A world craving something deeper. A world where community comes first. It takes visionaries like Bruno to trust in an idea before it becomes a proven success. To believe in people, purpose, and the power of connection. And that’s what The SumMeet is all about: ✅ Fixing what’s broken. Social media today is noisy, impersonal, and overwhelming. We want to change that. ✅ Putting people over algorithms. We believe in creating platforms where real connections drive meaningful action. ✅ Prioritizing community. Because success isn’t just about individuals—it’s about the teams, networks, and communities that support them. As Stuart said while in the car (yes, we keep the wheels turning literally and figuratively!): “This is bigger than us. It’s about solving problems, fixing systems, and building something with a soul.” Thank you, Bruno, for believing in us before anyone else did!! It’s not just the funding—it’s the trust, the alignment, and the shared mission to put community first. This is what makes movements possible. To everyone else reading this: The SumMeet isn’t just a startup. It’s a solution. It’s a step toward a better way to connect, collaborate, and grow. 🚀 #TheSumMeet #CommunityFirst #BoldVision #FixingSocialMedia #PurposeDriven #RealConnections #24HourStartup #InnovationWithSoul #TrustInAction

Entrepreneur, Startup Founder, occasionally advise investors on venture opportunities.

They said it was impossible! So we went and did it anyway. We raised 1 MILLION DOLLARS in 24 Hours. 💰💰💰 For a startup that was founded only a few days earlier, built in 24 hours, by a team of 100 strangers ! 😱 We built it fast, scrappy and unconventional. And that's how we fundraised too. But we needed to find the right investor! Because the core value of the venture is not the (important) problem TheSumMeet is there to fix. It's the people and the culture we have built in just 1 week. The ability to attract incredible talent and work united in the pursuit of a common objective at peak performance with relentless pursuit of our goal. If we did this in a week, on the sidelines of a conference, what can we do when we really get out head down to BUILD? This was our pitch! And I knew this was not a pitch for a regular VC. We needed to find a Visionary Investor. I have #fundraised before and I have a super simple formula that pretty much guarantees fundraising success: 1. How much you need, 2. What you need it for, 3. By when you will achieve this, and 4. What achieving this means to the investor you're pitching. In fact I believe the reason many think fundraising is hard is because most founders can't really answer those 4 questions. It's as simple as that. Or when they can, they get deflated by rejection, not realising this is the inevitable process of searching for the right investor/startup fit. But this time was different, I could not articulate my own fundraising framework. And yet I knew we're on to something hot. And impossible to explain to a conventional VC. I needed a visionary investor, I was aiming for Jack Dorsey, but I couldn't get his number, so I tried for family offices, impact investors, and anyone I though might hear my question. I made all the calls I could make, to anyone I thought might help. And most people thought I was going mad. All I needed was for my question to get to just one person to get the RIGHT answer. The rest is background noise. And so, the #Visionary Investor appeared. Thank you for your trust Bruno Michieli. Your're as mad as the whole tribe that put this project together! Ask the right question, get the right answer! #thesummeer #builtinlisbon #startup #24hourstartup #Fundraising

  • 🔥 WE DID IT. 🔥 Let me break this down for you. A week ago, The SumMeet was an idea—a crazy, impossible idea. A #24hourstartup. Build it, launch it, brand it... all in ONE DAY. Everyone said, “You can’t do that.” And guess what? We did. But here’s the kicker: this wasn’t about us. This was about something bigger. It was about COMMUNITY. ⚡ While the world keeps talking about “individual success,” we went the other way. We said, let’s build something TOGETHER. And because of that, something incredible happened. The right people showed up, the right questions were asked, and the impossible became reality. And then, the question that nobody wanted to ask: "Can we get 1 MILLION EUROS in funding?" Most people wouldn’t dare. They’d play it small, wait for “perfect timing,” and hope for the best. But we knew the truth: If you don’t ask, you don’t get. 💥 And we got it. 💥 Bruno, the investor who believes in community-first, stepped up and said, "I believe in you. I believe in this mission. Here’s 1 million euros. Let’s make this happen." Listen... The world doesn’t need another product, another app, another startup that’s all about “me, me, me.” What the world needs is COMMUNITY. That’s what The SumMeet is about: ☑ Real connections. ☑ Real conversations. ☑ Real solutions to real problems. If we can do this in 24 hours, imagine what we can do next. This is just the beginning. The SumMeet isn’t just a startup—it’s a movement. And we’re here to change the game. 🚀 #TheSumMeet #CommunityFirst #FundingSuccess #BoldMoves #Collaboration #WebSummit2024 #24HourStartup #Teamwork #RealConnections #Innovation #MakingHistory Stuart Cerne Luis Roquette Valdez Jennie Holmes Francesca Giacomelli Michelangelo Guarise Luis Caixado Eric Meylan Emiliano Manuel Sara Timóteo Mabel Orbea Joy Muttai Jean Ly Daniel Ribeiro da Silva Christiaan O Samvel Atayan Rita Vargas

  • 🌟 The Power of Connection, The Courage to Share 🌟 One of our incredible team members recently shared a deeply personal story about how The SumMeet made a difference for him. Attending a conference with 70,000 people can feel overwhelming—especially for someone navigating social anxiety. But through our platform, he was able to ask questions and connect with the right people without exposing himself, finding the answers he needed in a way that felt safe and supportive. This is exactly why The SumMeet was created: ✔ To make connections accessible for everyone. ✔ To foster a space where people feel empowered to ask for help. ✔ To create meaningful interactions that break through the noise of massive events. We want to thank Luca Cappello, not only for your boldness and courage in sharing your story, but also for their incredible contribution to making The SumMeet a reality! You inspire us, and your experience reminds us why this mission matters 🙏 This is the power of connection. This is The SumMeet. 💡✨ #TheSumMeet #ConnectingWithPurpose #CommunityPower #SocialAnxiety #Courage #Boldness #24HourStartup #PurposeDriven #Innovation

Exactly one week ago, I joined a passionate individual who reached out to me with the idea of building TheSumMeet a platform created by the community, for the community, that seeks to foster meaningful connections. I am an active contributor to the project and an engaged user, and this is the main reason:

  • 💪 Meet Sara Timóteo: A Fighter, a Warrior, an Inspiration 💪 In every great story, there are people who redefine what it means to be brave. For The SumMeet, Sara is one of those people. Sara joined this crazy adventure, our hashtag #24hourstartup, with a heart full of determination and a spirit that inspires us all. While we worked long hours to bring this platform to life, Sara showed us what true strength looks like. She’s been undergoing simultaneous cancer treatments, yet that didn’t stop her. Sometimes she’d step away just for her treatment and come right back, ready to contribute. She told us that being part of this project gave her something she hadn’t felt in a long time: a sense of belonging and the joy of life. Sara is a fighter, a warrior—and it takes one to truly see one. She’s one of those “strangers” who came together to build a platform that helps other strangers connect meaningfully at WebSummit. Sara, your story reminds us why The SumMeet exists: to create real connections, to support each other, and to celebrate the power of community. Thank you for your strength, your inspiration, and your belief in this mission. You’re an integral part of this journey, and we are honored to have you with us. 🌟 Francesca Giacomelli Mabel Orbea Luis Caixado Stuart Cerne Luis Caixado Eric Meylan Luca Cappello #TheSumMeet #WebSummit2025 #ConnectingWithPurpose #CommunityPower #Inspiration

  • 💡 What Happened to The SumMeet? 💡 An idea? A team? A startup? It all began as a bold experiment—a group of strangers armed with a framework, radical collaboration, and a shared mission. Together, we built something extraordinary in just a week: a platform with a soul, created to foster real connections through powerful questions and true alignment. 🌟 And then came the moment of truth. A pitch. A chance to take this #24hourstartup from an intense week of volunteer-driven magic to something that could truly last. No funding. No guarantees. Just a mission. 📢 And we asked for 1 MILLION EUROS. Was it too bold? Too audacious? Maybe. But when you believe in what you’ve built, you ask the right question, even if it’s a bold one. Asking for 1 million wasn’t just about money—it was about believing in the power of connection, in the product we created, and in the future it could have. 👉 This is the moment to back The SumMeet. Whether you’re an investor, a dreamer, or someone who believes in connecting with purpose—this is your call to join the journey. Sometimes, boldness is exactly what it takes to make a difference. 💡💪 Stuart Cerne Francesca Giacomelli Mabel Orbea Joy Muttai Jean Ly Luis Roquette Valdez Luis Caixado Lucy Wanyee Trevor Longino Christiaan O Cátia Pinheiro Manso Samvel Atayan Daniel Ribeiro da Silva Sara Timóteo Rita Vargas Michelangelo Guarise Eric Meylan Jennie Holmes Emiliano Manuel #TheSumMeet #24HourStartup #ConnectingWithPurpose #BoldnessMatters #Innovation #StartupFunding #PurposeDriven #CommunityPower #WebSummit2024

  • In a world filled with uncertainties, the only way forward is to embrace the challenge and take that leap. Francesca Giacomelli, thank you for being part of our journey and for the ongoing support and leverage that have helped make The SumMeet a reality. 💡 And thank you to all the team that has made this possible! Luis Roquette Valdez Luis Caixado Trevor Longino Joy Muttai Cátia Pinheiro Manso Mabel Orbea Jean Ly Stuart Cerne Samvel Atayan Eric Meylan Luca Cappello and many more!!! Like every hero’s journey, this #24hourstartup began with a call to adventure—bringing strangers together with a shared mission to create something extraordinary. What makes this story unique is its decentralization: no single hero, no central figure, just a community united by purpose. This is the power of collaboration—where every voice matters and every effort contributes to the greater mission. Together, we’re redefining what’s possible. 🌍 #TheSumMeet #HeroesJourney #CommunityDriven #Decentralization #Collaboration #PurposefulConnections #24HourStartup #WebSummit2024 #Innovation

As I have joined and dived into TheSumMeet initiative, I am thinking that we are embodying #JosephCampbell 's #HerosJourney. The Hero's journey starts with a big jump into the unknown, beyond your own comfort zone, and continues through a series of challenges that make you learn in the process to find yourself changed at the end of the journey. We still do not know what #TheSumMeet will turn into, but we enjoy the ride that is fuelling our creative power! TheSumMeet has been a very creative and spontaneous decentralised initiative, in which a bunch of people, strangers to each other, casually joined and managed to deliver something, that far exceeded what each of us thought possible, in just 24 hours. How did it start for me? It was last Saturday, after Stuart's initial post that I offered to help draft some basic policies for the very first version of our website. I rushed into it as the deadline was fast approaching. Shortly after the release of the product, we had a sensitive IP issue to address that led us to rebrand and relaunch afresh and anew in the following 24 hours! It was as crazy as it sounds, but so inspiring and fun as everybody in the community was just UNSTOPPABLE! So much has been achieved and happened in these few days almost by itself and thanks to the amazing spontaneous efforts of the people who had contributed. Most of us have found purpose, creativity, joy and beautiful connections. Personally, I have learnt a lot about so many different things, and I listen to amazing and inspiring personal stories as they come out of this community almost on a daily basis. Trust and genuine willingness to cooperate are the pillars of this initiative. The energy is incredible and each of us are fuelling each other. It’s time to pitch to investors and secure the future of The SumMeet—a social media platform with a conscience. 🌍 This isn’t just about funding; it’s about safeguarding the WHY behind The SumMeet. It’s about creating a space where connections have meaning, where people find support, answers, and shared purpose. It’s about making sure this game-changer remains a beacon for purposeful networking and collaboration. We believe in a world where social media can empower humanity, and now, we need the resources to keep this mission alive. Entrepreneur, Startup Founder, occasionally advise investors on venture opportunities.

I have 6 hours left to deliver the pitch to raise 1 million dollars, to an investor I have not yet found, for a venture that is little more than a dream! We need your help! We need a warm intro to investors that care about the future of humanity. We're on to something big. I don't know what it is, but what happened this week with TheSumMeet is nothing short of a miracle. - Not because 100 strangers came together and built it in 24 hours, - Not because of what we released and the media attention we're getting! The magic of the story is the people that came together around this project. HOW and WHY the right people met, just when they needed to make this possible. The way we organised, trusting in the mission, trusting each other, complete strangers to deliver. What about the product, PMF and all the things a pitch should contain? There's a million directions we can take this, Or this platform on which I'm writing now could implement a better version in a day (Call me @Linkedin, I'll give you some tips). I don't care about the product. The power is in the culture of the organisation I want to build. Not in what we build. Give me a great team, a great culture and we'll turn any problem in a viable solution. It's just a matter of value and mission alignment. Personal and Organisational. Nothing has been conventional about this venture. And our fund raising won't be conventional either: What I hope to find today (and I am lifting every stone till I find it) is a #superhero purpose investor, family office, Jack Dorsey let’s reinvent social media type person who sees through all of that and gets on board because he sees how what we are starting has the power to impact humanity - and this has nothing to do with the product we have built in 24 hours! Today is not a day to cash queues, we don't even have a legal entity that could do that, and our CFO is too busy printing Tshirts! This is a day to find investors ready to back this venture if we decide to continue. My pitch, today at 6pm will be to the real seed investors, the community that made this project possible, to decide what’s next. 1 Week ago I asked social media "Who wants to build a startup in 24 hours" and it happened. Today I am asking social media "Who wants to back this mad guy in building a new way for people to organise, work together and demonstrate you can build a unicorn while being people and planet first". But I hope before I get on that podium that someone out there hears this call to action and says: "I'll back this crazy bunch of people that may just be onto something."
