THG Automation provides a packaged solution comprised of a Universal Robots UR10e robot and a Fronius weld package of your choice to weld most materials and with some of the most advanced welding processes in the world. This system can be delivered within weeks and deployed quickly, sometimes in a day. The entire system occupies a small footprint and is easy to move around.
With nearly 30% of Indiana’s GRP and 20% of its workforce tied to the sector, the prosperity of the Hoosier economy hinges on the health and resiliency of our manufacturing base. In September, Conexus contributed to the Sagamore Institute’s Workforce 2024 book, posing a critical question: What will it take for Indiana to ignite an era of manufacturing renaissance?

Isn't it amazing how automation continues to redefine what's possible? Here's a prime example: a UR cobot welding with Coordinated Motion.
By synchronising the motion of the cobot and an external axis - two separate mechanical systems linked electronically - we achieve unparalleled precision, reduced cycle times and breakthrough efficiency 💥
Coordinated motion isn't just a feature, it's a transformative capability that pushes the boundaries of robotics. Hear what THG Automation CEO Matt Hendey has to say about the possibilities of coordinated motion.
The future of welding is here and it's synchronised 👯⚡

We are often asked - how do you calculate ROI with a robot?
We've discovered there are three "buckets" to 🤖 welding ROI:
✔️ Reduction in welding cost 💲 - watch this video 👇, this part has long seam welds. To complete all three of these welds the total cycle time is 6 minutes. The arc-on time is above 75%. Travel speeds are higher, gas consumption is more efficient, weld wire usage is more consistent, operator fatigue is eliminated. The cost of this weld and the overall part cost is significantly less than manual welding. These savings stack up fast when you do batches of the parts, over a year they are significant.
✔️ Increased quality - these welds need to be continuous and they will be leak checked. The THG Automation cobot system uses edge detection and seam tracking to dial in the weld. The Fronius Perfect Welding CMT system ensures that rework is minimal, if not 0. What is rework and scrapped parts costing you?
✔️ Opportunity cost - What happens if your production doubles? 📈 The operator in this video is working on prepping another part while the robot welds. If you would answer "I would sell twice as much" when you are asked what you would do with double productivity, you need to look at automation. Factor in the increased quality and the reduction in weld cost and you will find that a welding robot pays for itself quickly.
Most companies focus on only one of these aspects during their ROI evaluation and miss how much money they are leaving on the table by postponing a robotic weld system integration.
