In conversations with teams and leaders, it’s clear that many organizations are caught in a costly loop; overspending on data tools while underinvesting in the right data architecture. Here are some numbers worth considering: - 65% of data projects stall due to architecture, not tool limitations. - Companies with flexible data frameworks achieve 2.5x better ROI. - Integration costs now exceed licensing costs in 7 out of 10 projects. One counter-intuitive finding: Less rigid tooling often leads to more robust, adaptable solutions. A question for leaders: Are your data challenges really about the tools, or is it time to rethink the foundation? #DataStrategy #Analytics #DigitalTransformation #Innovation

Cybersecurity is not just a tech issue, it's a national security concern. As our infrastructure resources become more interconnected, they also become more vulnerable to cyber threats. This post is a powerful reminder that leaders must prioritize cybersecurity to protect their organizations and the critical systems we rely on.
American Water Works, the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S. serving over 14 million people across 14 states, announced on Monday that hackers had breached its computer networks and systems. The Camden, New Jersey-based company became aware of the unauthorized activity on Thursday. It took protective measures, including shutting down specific systems and pausing customer billing, ensuring no late charges would be applied during this period. While the company stated that its facilities and operations were not impacted, it is still investigating the full scope of the incident and is cooperating with law enforcement. This cybersecurity incident occurs amid growing concerns by U.S. officials about attempts by foreign actors to breach critical infrastructure networks. This story reminds me of a recent conversation with a rural water district. They were interested in using CTI to confirm that they hadn't experienced any historical data breaches they were unaware of and to check for any new breaches following a recent project with an engineering company to enhance their cybersecurity technologies and processes. After a quick review, we found that they were aware of all the past security incidents and that there were no current cyber threats. These are the kinds of demonstrations I enjoy. However, when I inquired about the engineering company they had hired to revamp their cybersecurity, the positive news turned negative. It turned out that the engineering company responsible for establishing and maintaining its cybersecurity had been breached, and neither the engineering company nor the water district had been aware of the breach. This is a reminder that when a company outsources work to a supplier, they do not outsource the associated risks. Instead, they inherit all the risks linked to their supply chain. https://lnkd.in/g73BV5VM

As we reflect on Labor Day, let's honor the courage and determination of those who marched and rallied for workers' rights throughout history. This powerful photograph captures a moment when people from all walks of life stood together to demand fair treatment, better wages, and safer working conditions. Their fight paved the way for many of the rights we often take for granted today. But the struggle for fair labor practices and equality continues. Let’s draw inspiration from their unity and commitment to justice as we continue to advocate for workers everywhere. Long live solidarity, and Happy Labor Day to all! #LaborDay #WorkersRights #Solidarity #UnionStrong #HistoryMatters
