As someone who left industry to help students navigate the AI Revolution, I was honored to be mentioned in the The Wall Street Journal article by James R. (Bob) Hagerty on the topic. I know Bob can't put everything in a single article but here are few key points to add: 1) You won't be replaced by AI, you'll be replaced someone who knows AI. Learn how to use it. 2) The details are changing all the time. Learn to think deeply and keep clear on what is fundamental, and what is ephemeral. 3) You don't need to build technologies, but you need to know how they work and what they can and can't do so you can rise above the hype and fear. One way to keep up with the big picture of changes is to follow our students in the The New AI Project | University of Notre Dame who blog, post, and x-cast to help you on your AI journey. Congratulations to that team (and our partner Kelsey Forry at ThinkND) for a great year of sharing their AI journey beyond the University of Notre Dame.
🤝👨🏫 Last month, our advisor, Dr. John Behrens, was featured in an article from the Wall Street Journal's Technology column. The piece covers the uncertainty that the widespread adoption of generative AI has infused into the career discernment and job-seeking process. Read below for a taste of how Dr. Behrens' expertise in human-machine interaction can contribute to critical conversations about how the Generative Revolution will shape the #FutureOfWork. #GenerativeAI #AIRevolution #HumanMachineInteraction #CareerDevelopment #AIInnovation #LeadershipInsights #WorkforceEvolution #AIAndSociety #TechInEducation

"God's painting" — that's how Joy A. ’24’s grandmother described sunrises and sunsets. While on a trip to Mexico with her University of Notre Dame friends, Joy experienced a sunset so breathtaking that it reaffirmed her faith in God as the ultimate artist, always guiding her path. Now teaching in Louisville through Alliance for Catholic Education, Joy finds peace in the quiet beauty of sunsets after long days, a reminder that every day is a fresh start — a sunrise waiting after every sunset. 💡 Visit go.nd.edu/SacredStoriesND to see more Sacred Stories of Notre Dame, daily advent video reflections featuring alumni, students, faculty, and staff as they share meaningful moments of faith. #SacredStoriesND #Advent #ThinkND #NotreDame #GoIrish

Three simple words. That’s all it took for Rev. Nate Wills, C.S.C., ’99, ’03 M.Ed., ’05 M.Div., to unlock the power of belonging and togetherness on his first player walk as University of Notre Dame football team chaplain. “I have to admit that the first time I did it, I was pretty nervous. I felt like an outsider. Who was I to be joining in this parade of jubilation? As the team walked in front of the Hesburgh Library, they split into two groups around the reflecting pool. Some went to the left, and others went to the right. I could see ahead and each person seemed to know right where to go. Except me. I must have shown this mix of doubt and panic on my face because one of our coaches looked at me and said three simple words: “’You’re with us.’” 💡 Join the Notre Dame family this Advent season with Sacred Stories of Notre Dame. How can we bridge generational gaps in the workplace to create a culture of collaboration and understanding? 💡 Adam Kronk ’02, ’09 MNA, Director of Research Strategy & External Engagement at the Notre Dame Institute for Ethics and the Common Good, University of Notre Dame, explores the complexity of generational diversity: "There are four, five, or even six generations currently working alongside one another. Talking about and studying generational differences is an imprecise science. What events have shaped large groups of people? How are they motivated? What are their preferred communication styles? And what worldview might they be bringing to the workplace?" 💡 Learn how to navigate generational diversity and unlock its potential in the latest ThinkND Game Changers series, Powered by IrishCompass: https://go.nd.edu/ef02f0 #ThinkND #NotreDame #GoIrish #Leadership #Diversity #Collaboration
