  • We look forward to enabling this transformation by always focusing on health providers and their challenges, building creative new tools and technology, and ensuring the best possible care for every patient. In doing so, we will embark on the transformation journey with our health system partners, giving them the ‘courage and confidence to begin’. Thank you Douglas Descalzi, James Stevenson, and Allen Flynn. Follow us at Thiopoly and learn more at www.thiopoly.com.

Two of the most powerful, catalytic forces in transformation are having their moment – AI and automation. New, emerging technology is far more capable of radical and fundamental change than just a few years ago. For industries that always seem on the precipice of danger or for those on an unsustainable path, technology-enabled transformation is now very realistic and a lifeline. It is an opportunity to address previously intractable problems and relieve pressure that can strain or strangle organizations. Nowhere is this more palpable than in health, including the operations that enable patient care. As the population ages, care migrates, costs rise, staffing struggles, and regulations mount, transformation is needed and inevitable. We have the tools. We just need our creativity and imagination, and the courage and confidence to begin. Thanks to James Stevenson and Allen Flynn for co-authoring article with me below.

  • We are happy to announce that Will Spies has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer for Thiopoly. Will joined the company in 2024, and has made innumerable contributions to our technology and progress. He led the scale up of our trials phase, and has supported our customers as we demonstrated our capabilities and value. The results are very encouraging, and his work has positioned us extremely well. As the team takes shape for the next phase of growth, Will will lead technical development and deployment efforts for the company. Thank you Will, and congratulations.

  • As care shifts away from the hospital, new technologies and solutions are needed to manage the growth in drug spend in outpatient and ambulatory settings.  The operational pharmacy problem of the past was how to support hospitals, the challenge of the future is how to scale and manage medications for hundreds of clinics. New possibilities are emerging.  We are now providing digital visibility for medication management in over 10 locations, ranging from satellite pharmacies to specialty clinics.  Not only have we enabled providers to better deploy, track, and manage medications, we have also streamlined workflows and enhanced safety. We are rolling out more sites and adding capabilities, focusing on light, flexible, scalable hardware; sensing that enables grab and go workflows; communication technology that unburdens healthcare IT; and analytics and automation that reduces costs. Follow Thiopoly to learn more.

  • We were pleased to be invited to present at the recent 2024 AI & Robotics Venture Fair in Pittsburgh, hosted by Innovation Works and Carnegie Mellon University. Douglas Descalzi shared the growing challenges the US health system has in medication management; the critical role of sensing and digital visibility to address unmet needs, automate, and apply AI; and Thiopoly's progress toward solutions for the future of healthcare. Thanks to Jordan Marinkovich, MBA for the opportunity and organizing the event. Photo credits: https://lnkd.in/eGWygeUm

  • We are excited to share that our DVRx pilot is underway. We are now live at 4 locations with our first pilot customer, supporting their cardiac ICU, IV compounding cleanroom, and consolidated service center. DVRx is intended assess the impact of new sensing, Internet-of-Things (IoT), Mobile, and Cloud/AI technology on the persistent lack of digital visibility in medication management. Additional pilot customers in our first cohort will go live shortly. We look forward to sharing insights and results from DVRx, and how we can help reduce costs and improve patient care for health systems and their patients around the world.

  • We are pleased to announce closure of Pre-Seed funding for Thiopoly, and the launch of our Digital Visibility in Pharmacy (DVRx) pilot program. Our Pre-Seed round kicked off with commitments from LifeX and Innovation Works, and was quickly over-subscribed. The funding will enable us to continue our technical and commercial momentum. The DVRx program is our next step toward commercialization of Thio , which seeks to address the persistent lack of digital visibility of medications in healthcare. In DVRx, we are partnering with leading US health systems to assess the impact of new sensing, Internet-of-Things (IoT), mobile, and Cloud/AI technologies on medication management.  We have already fully enrolled our first cohort in DVRx. For further news and progress on DVRx and the company, please follow Thiopoly on Linkedin.

  • Thiopoly is pleased to announce the kickoff of the company’s pre-seed funding with commitments from LifeX and Innovation Works, two leading early stage investors in the Pittsburgh region. Pre-seed funding will support Thiopoly through its planned pilot phase and further develop its core technology for commercial launch. Funding is contingent on final due diligence and closing requirements.    We are excited to work with LifeX and IW as we pursue solutions to the lack of digital visibility in pharmacy and healthcare. Their support, guidance, and network will be additional assets as we grow the company.
