About us
Thread Strategies is a woman-led fundraising consulting firm that specializes in supporting small nonprofits. We believe every nonprofit is capable of fundraising according to industry-wide best practices, and our mission is to make fundraising more coordinated, supported, and effective so that social change organizations can grow revenue over time and maximize their impact. We approach consulting as partners and teammates, and we live by the phrase, “Do the Work.” We comprehensively assess a nonprofit’s current development efforts, and we create a customized strategy for how to approach fundraising that is rooted in each partner’s current reality and responsive to their vision for the future. With a new development plan in place, Thread then helps our partners to bring the strategy to life by building the systems to support it, hiring the staff to lead it, and assisting in execution until processes are up and running.

Thread encourages our Spool to educate itself about H.R. 9495, a bill that would grant the Secretary of the Treasury unilateral authority to revoke nonprofit status. The bill opens the door to potential abuse and politicization of impartial policy decisions and threatens free speech. Congress will vote on this bill again on Thursday, November 21.
