We have some exciting news!! We've been chosen by Giving Machines Las Vegas as 1 of their 10 charity partners this holiday season! Check us out at the Giving Machine at Downtown Summerlin which is open starting tomorrow and goes all the way through NYE to purchase items for our kiddos! It's a vending machine for a cause and we are SO here for it! Shoutout to the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for stepping up for so many vulnerable folks in our community with this initiative, we are truly grateful to be included! But don’t just take our word for it, read the pile of thank-yous given to TIers by Richardson ISD Stults Road Elementary students.      ✍️ “TI is the best.”   🏫 “We are so grateful that you guys are helping our school.”      The handwritten notes came after an engaging day of impact led by TI President and CEO Haviv IIan, along with Andy Smith, director of giving and volunteering and executive director of the TI Foundation.       Teams inspired students to dream big and create visions for their futures. October is Domestic Abuse Awareness Month. While DCAC does not work directly on cases of intimate partner violence, research shows that child maltreatment often occurs in homes where IPV takes place. Both are crimes of isolation and secrecy, where vulnerable victims can be manipulated or groomed into fearing that if they say something, things will get worse. ⁠ When it comes to domestic abuse, we know: 💛 The Statistics show that the co-occurrence between DV and child maltreatment is as high as 70%. ⁠💛The number one predictor of child abuse is woman abuse. ⁠💛DV often precedes child maltreatment - so intervention at the time DV is identified may prevent future child abuse.
