Thanks to Cabling Installation & Maintenance for covering this topic. If you want to learn more about the ANSI/TIA-942-C, take a look at our white paper: https://lnkd.in/emxmsN3T
Thanks to significant contributions and guidance from data center pros Jonathan Jew, David Kozischek, and Jacques Fluet among others, we have a pretty comprehensive examination of the changes and updates in the ANSI/TIA-942-C Data Center Standard published by the Telecommunications Industry Association earlier this year. The trio put on an hour-long webinar detailing a number of significant changes from the previous revision, as well as new recommendations and requirements that are seen for the first time in 942-C. The article linked below looks at some of those major changes. It also directs you to the webinar, and to where you can purchase the standard for yourself. Thank you to these three pros for delivering this information, and to the many, many contributors who made the ANSI/TIA-942-C standard a reality. https://lnkd.in/ek3jrnSp

TIA co-hosted a panel discussion on Capitol Hill on how U.S. policy can support American leadership in standards development. The event was widely attended by Congressional staff, agency employees, and stakeholders from private industry. Key takeaways included: ✔️Private sector leadership – in partnership with federal agencies like NIST – is key to success in standards development. ✔️Global standards are essential to support interoperability, lower prices through economies of scale, reduce barriers to trade, and protect the environment. ✔️The government can help by reforming the R&D tax credit to allow for immediate expensing, passing legislation like the Promoting United State Leadership in Standards Act, avoiding exclusionary policies that might lead to standards fragmentation, implementing effective visa policies to support the hosting of global standards meetings in the U.S., and giving NIST the resources it needs to succeed.
