About us

We are the next generation of startup accelerator. TinySeed was started by Rob Walling and Einar Vollset, two serial entrepreneurs who saw a gap in the ability for non-unicorn startups to raise early-stage funding. So we decided to fix that. We announced in late 2018, and the response was beyond anything we imagined. Hundreds and hundreds of tweets, re-tweets, likes, Hacker News upvotes, email responses... it was immediately obvious that there is pent up demand for this kind of alternative early-stage startup funding. That’s the moment we knew we were onto something. TinySeed is an accelerator, but it’s remote, runs for a full year, focuses on SaaS, and “non-unicorns” (companies that don’t aspire to grow at all costs to reach a $1B valuation). To venture capitalists, a company doing $10m in annual revenue is a miss. To us, it’s a great business.

    It's been an incredible experience working with Sushant Gulati and the amazing bigbasket.com team this past year! With CloudForecast, we tackled one of the toughest Amazon Web Services (AWS) cost management challenges: improving tagging compliance and enabling proactive cost control. BigBasket, India’s leading online grocer, processes 15 million orders monthly—managing AWS costs as they scaled was critical. Their cloud team leveraged CloudForecast's Tagging Center features to monitor and improve tagging compliance, climbing from 60% to 99%! 🎯 Once tagging compliance improved, BigBasket used their tags to create Cost Groups in CloudForecast that were aligned with their 20+ engineering teams. These groups receive Daily AWS Cost Reports and ZeroWaste Cost Optimization Reports via email and Slack, sliced and diced by the costs for which they are directly responsible.     Ever feel like LinkedIn’s Ad reset at midnight UTC burns through your budget before your audience even wakes up? 78% of advertisers I surveyed recently said yes - they saw their budgets drain too soon, and honestly, that's tough to hear. It means less budget going into the times of day when audiences are actually awake and engaged. And if you're targeting multiple locations? Even worse. So if you’re fed up with seeing your LinkedIn Ads budget exhausted early in the day because of the UTC reset, I’m here to say you’re not alone. But what can you do? To get the most out of your budget, you need to align your ad delivery with the times your audience is actually online and engaged. Stopping ads from running 11pm - 5am is a good start... But as you probably know - LinkedIn doesn’t offer a native tool to schedule ads. You could try manually going into Campaign Manager and toggling campaigns off and on throughout the day... Every day.... Doable, but also...ridiculous. (I know, I used to do it myself). That’s why we created Linklo. Linklo’s scheduling feature helps ensure your ads are hitting when your audience is most active. And it works. Oh boy, it really works. More on that in another post. I had just received a term sheet from TinySeed, and "𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘶𝘦𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘦" was how they described it in the accompanying email. This is not the first time, I am closing a finance round. I have pitched countless times and I don't remember how many times I applied to various accelerator programs for various startups. But this time it's different.   It's not about the money. It's more than this. Way more. Yes, of course the cash influx helps. No founder will ever deny that. But what excites me most is becoming a member of a new tribe. A tribe of bootstrapping entrepreneurs around the globe who are at the same stage I am at. Rob and Einar have created something really unique: MicroConf a conference  and TinySeed an investment fund and accelerator for bootstrappers and solopreneurs like me. I have been following them for years. I applied four times. And got rejected every single time. This time around, everything was different. Money used to be a main driver in my prior applications. This time it was the companionship of other founders, the mentorship, the advice, the community. The need for a tribe - that drove me to try again. In short: I couldn't be more proud and excited to announce today that Teamfluence™ is now part of the TinySeed family.
