I was honored to speak on another great panel at the Titan Investors 2nd Annual Due Diligence Retreat in Newport Beach. I joined 4 of my colleagues in wealth management to discuss the current global market environment and how we are positioning client portfolios. Lucky for us, it is quite an interesting time in the world right now so we had a lot of material to work with! The last three years have been a tricky environment to navigate. After participating in this conference, I have renewed confidence that long-term investors partnering with talented managers are in a good position for the next two or three years!

The Titan Investors team completed the first of three global stops this week in Bermuda for one of our signature Active Exchange Events! Honored to join fellow LPs - Anurag Chandra, Kai Chen, Keith Spears - for an engaging discussion on the state of private markets investing. Select takeaways: 1. U.S. private markets are poised to benefit from improved financial conditions. Many buyout GPs however still have problematic ZIRP-era assets. As realizations take place, relative (out/under-) performance may be quite pronounced. LPs will have a chance to be discerning and crowd-to-quality in 2025-2026. 2. Many LPs lack conviction on how best to invest in AI. For large allocators, the trade-off between writing larger checks to VCs v.s. sticking with software/SaaS isn't obvious. LPs with flexibility should consider both, i.e. barbell strategy. 3. Recent U.S. public equity performance has impacted relative desirability of PE/VC. Allocators are grappling with different approaches to assess performance, increase transparency and guide strategy, e.g. Total Portfolio Approach (TPA), factor investing, synthetic PE portfolios. On balance, the hurdle for private markets return has trended up. As we head into the 2025 planning cycle for deployment and pipeline discussions, would love to connect with fellow LPs, P&E, and SWF investors. Send me a message to compare notes! Burning Man meets Investment Event (The Tree of Investments)! …   The Titan Investors team was excited to be on the road again... this time, San Francisco for our Institutional Exchange!   The event featured a balanced mix of Pension Fund CIOs, Endowments, Foundations, Sovereign Groups, Consultants & a plethora of Single Family Offices in the audience!   There was a whole lot of learning taking place on investment ideas in Public/Private Markets, Outlook post election & understanding future implications in the economy.
