During Thanksgiving season, I find myself reflecting on the immense gratitude I feel for SC's nonprofit sector and the volunteers who power our work. Volunteers embody the spirit of generosity—donating their time, talents, and resources to make our communities stronger, healthier, and more resilient. Their commitment to service is foundational to organizations like Communities In Schools of SC, where we strive to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve their greatest potential. Yesterday, we brought together SCs nonprofit leaders, policy experts, and advocates at the 2nd Annual Nonprofit Issues Forum in Columbia! What we covered: ✔️ Post-Election Recap: An engaging conversation with a nonprofit leader, a reporter, and a lobbyist, breaking down the 2024 election results and what they mean for the 2025 legislative session. ✔️ Access to Basic Needs: Our panel shed light on the critical issues of food, shelter, and education, and the policies needed to create a stronger future for South Carolinians. ✔️ Access to Care: Thought-provoking insights into the state of healthcare and childcare access—and the path toward solutions. 💬 Thank You to Our Speakers and Attendees: Your passion and expertise made this event a success.
