🚀 Catalytic Capital in Action: Insights from our Amsterdam Workshop How can catalytic capital drive real, systemic change? Last October, Toniic and FMO Investment Management brought together impact investors, DFIs, and family offices to explore this question in depth. We explored topics such as: ✅ how catalytic capital is deployed to tackle deforestation, climate action & social inequities ✅ Insights from Impact Europe on market trends & philanthropic capital gaps ✅ Family office strategies for breaking silos & embracing systems thinking ✅ Investment case studies on regenerative forestry & natural capital These discussions reinforced the power of private capital to drive impact beyond financial returns—and the need for collaboration & knowledge-sharing to scale solutions. To continue the research and discussion, we’ve launched an open-source Catalytic Capital Transaction Database, tracking trends, transaction terms & deployment strategies. 📊 Explore the database here: https://lnkd.in/gne_-AYE #ImpactInvesting #CatalyticCapital #SystemsChange #Toniic Special thanks to the Catalytic Capital Consortium for their continued support.

🎉 It's a wrap! What an incredible week at the Toniic Annual Global Gathering! It was a whirlwind of inspiration, deep knowledge-sharing, and unforgettable connections. It was a great opportunity to learn more about our new incoming CEO Dara Parker, and hear from current CEO Adam Bendell on our aspiration as an organisation to #leadbyexample. We dove into transformative sessions, including "How Our Beliefs Can Disrupt Prevailing Power Dynamics" led by Ncedisa Nkonyeni (she/her) and explored digital and business model innovations in Africa with experts like Matthew Stotts, Rowena Luk, Nneka E. and Stephanie Rakels. Discussions on investing in ecosystem preservation with Werner Myburgh, John Loudon and Gijs Boers were equally enlightening, as was our exploration of the "Nine Desirable Future Scenarios" by the Deep Transitions Lab. Every talk, panel, and fireside chat provided valuable insights, energizing us with the community's power to drive individual and #collectiveimpact. 🙌 While we leave inspired, we recognize the vast work ahead and are more committed than ever to our mission. Let's keep the momentum going! 🔥 #ToniicAGG #ImpactInvesting #DeepImpact

Yesterday's emotionally stirring first day at Toniic's Annual Global Gathering in Cape Town was a vivid reminder of why we gather: to forge meaningful connections, gain true understanding, and catalyze sustainable change. 🌟🇿🇦 Our day began with Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis discussing the city's ambitious goals and confronting the reality of its needs. We delved into the local impact landscape on a panel hosted by Rowena Luk, with speakers Lelemba Phiri and Bongani Sithole, exploring the challenges, successes, and lessons learned from investing in the region. The day took a reflective turn with Zelda La Grange's touching recount of her years with Nelson Mandela, reminding us of the profound personal changes that precede societal ones. Day One concluded with a visit to PHILIPPI VILLAGE in one of Cape Town's 25 🚩 Red Zones where we witnessed firsthand the resilience amidst daily challenges of violent crime. This stark, grounding experience underscored the urgency of our mission and the direct impact we aspire to make. There's a lot of work ahead of us, and we, the Toniic community, are here for it. 💪
