What was 2024 about for us? It was about growth: experiencing it and learning how to navigate enterprise sales cycles • Strengthened our traction in Europe and Asia, entered the UK • Kept experimenting with various sales channels and discovered exciting synergies between them It was about network and partnerships: • Started generating revenue through our partnerships • Secured a solid partnership in the Middle East (announcement pending) • Made numerous valuable connections in both payments and VC worlds It was about challenges: addressing familiar ones and embracing new ones • Prepared for accelerated growth with a thorough review of product development and tech processes • Underwent a data security review by a Big4 consultancy • Launched a new product adding value to existing ICPs and targeting adjacent ones It was about the team: • Grew our payments and data analysis expertise while maintaining efficiency • Added a marketing lead to streamline our activities It was about visibility: building our brand and leveraging it • Spoke at some major payments events: Vilnius Fintech Day, Finovate Europe, Agora Fintech by Todeb, Money 2020, EBA Day, Nordic Fintech Week, Milan Fintech Summit, Fintech Connect and others • Named "Startup of the Year" by Merchant Payments Ecosystem • Ranked #8 fastest-growing startup in Eastern Europe and Baltics, and #76 in Europe by Sifted But it wasn't always smooth surfing. 😊 Key lessons learned: • Time to become more process-driven, especially in sales • Need to enhance team communication, particularly given our remote work setup Stay tuned for 2025!

Have you ever wondered how profitable the payment networks are? Here's some fresh data. Let's break down how these payment companies make and spend their money. Both Visa and Mastercard give back a big chunk of their revenue as incentives to banks and other partners - about 36-38% of what they collect. In simple terms, for every $100 they make, they give back around $37 in incentives. One interesting difference: while Visa mostly sticks to payment processing, Mastercard has branched out into other services like cyber security and data analytics, which shows up as a separate revenue stream in their books (by the way these are the so called fixed scheme fees which could be found in your MC invoices if you are a principal member of Mastercard). When it comes to keeping profits, Visa is the most efficient, keeping 66 cents of every dollar they make after all expenses. Mastercard keeps 54 cents, PayPal 22 cents, and American Express a bit less since they also lend money directly to customers, which comes with its own costs. Despite giving away a lot in incentives, these companies (especially Visa and Mastercard) still manage to run very profitable businesses. One of the reasons is that issuers and acquirers are in general not very good at analyzing and optimizing the scheme fees. Francesco thanks for bringing this up. #schemefees #interchange #profitability

Farvel regnfulde København 🌧️! Now it's the timt to head back to sunny Cyprus ☀️ :) It was an exciting experience to exhibit together with Hans at the Nordic Fintech Week and pitch Torus here. Given the high share of cashless payments in the region I personally believe that transaction profitability control is attracting more and more focus here. It was great to meet old friends and make new ones at the event. Eventhough "AI" is still a buzzword, there were some interesting real-life cases presented and the event. And really enjoyed Simone Severini speech on quantum computing so that current cryptography protocols should be updated quite soon. See ya! Mats Taraldsson Inez Molnár Benjamin Le Collen Kamile S.
