This Juneteenth, Tosco Music celebrates: God’s Trombones: The Shout Band Tradition in the United House of Prayer for All People A tradition found only in the United House of Prayer for All People, an African-American urban Pentecostal denomination concentrated in the SE, the roots of shout band music stretch back to Africa, with important input from the gospel quartet singing of the mid-twentieth century, all passed down person-to-person, without written notes. 🎺We were blessed to have Cedric Mangum & Co. perform at our last Tosco Music Party in April 2024.
