Townee's vision is to build a space where people can feel at home. The questions aren't simply to find the best hidden gems. They are designed around each of the stages that a person goes through from 'new in town' to feeling like you're at home. No matter whether you're moving, traveling or just researching the area - the questions are designed to get to the heart of the information that matters. What do I mean? 1. Exploration What’s a unique nightlife experience I can’t miss here? What are your favorite family-friendly activities in the area? What are the best lesser known tourist attractions? Are there any thrift stores or secondhand shops where you’re likely to find hidden treasures? 2. Socializing & Networking Who are the first people I want to connect with in my neighborhood or at work? What are the apps, websites or community boards to help meet people and learn about events? 3. Establishing Routines How do people dress when they go to Target? Are there any local quirks that might take some getting used to, like odd parking rules or tricky regulations? 4. Engaging with Community What are the best festivals or special events in the area? What are the best community events, gatherings or the local water cooler? 5. Building Relationships What is a part of the culture in the area that outsiders would find weird? Are there any local traditions or customs that people here are especially proud of? 6. Feeling "At Home" How would you describe the typical weather? Are there any laws for the area that people should be aware of? How would you describe the beauty standards in the area? 7. Celebrating Milestones Where can I find authentic local food, not just tourist spots? Where's the best place to find locally made products? What are the best festivals or special events in the area?

I'm so excited that Townee is officially LIVE! And I need your help! Townee is a site where locals can give tips and advice on their area for movers and travelers. Earlier this year I was considering a move to a new city and went online to research the area but couldn't find the information that I was wanting. It wasn't until I visited the city and chatted with locals that I got the information I was needing to help me find the right neighborhood for me, understand the culture and more. 10 years before that when I moved to Salt Lake City I struggled with the same problem and I realized that in all this time nothing existed that fit my needs. Townee isn't just for movers though. It's also designed for people traveling who want to experience the city like a local from hidden gems, crime & safety information, important cultural information so you don't look like a tourist and more. The site is live but it needs content. It needs your knowledge of your area to help other trying to navigate your city.
