Jackie Jeter was a trailblazing labor leader and former president of ATU Local 689. In 2007, she made history as the first Black woman to lead Local 689 since its founding in 1916. She began her career in 1994 as a shop steward for rail operations and went on to serve as assistant business agent, first vice president, and financial secretary-treasurer. With each role she held, she broke barriers and set new precedents, paving the way for future generations of leaders in the labor movement. #BlackHistoryMonth

Today, we celebrate the life, legacy, and vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. — a leader who dedicated his life to justice, equality, and freedom for all. Let us honor his words by continuing to stand for unity, fairness, and compassion in our communities. Together, we can create the change Dr. King dreamed of. "Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that." - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (1963) #MLKDay2025 #MLKDay
