With the help of about 100 amazing volunteers, Trashie packed up 40,000 lbs of excess donated clothing at the Santa Anita Park—enough to fill a 53’ semi from floor to ceiling! These clothes are on their way to be sorted, graded, and either sent back out for reuse or responsibly recycled. We’re truly grateful for the outpouring of support today and the opportunity to be there for LA when it’s needed most https://lnkd.in/gf2CEs36

Trashie has received outreach from dozens of organizations seeking assistance with excess clothing donations that have overwhelmed their teams and operations. Our first stop is a pick-up at the Santa Anita Park parking lot, where hundreds of pounds of excess donations have accumulated. Our team will be collecting these donations, transporting them to our collection facility, and sorting and categorizing them. In the coming weeks, we will work to provide pre-sorted, quality used clothing to vetted aid partners serving populations affected by the fires, tailored to each partner’s specific needs.
