Recently, our President, Julie Cooper, and our Vice President of Affiliate Trainers, Ann Smith, partnered with the Saskatchewan Foster Family Association to provide trauma-informed training to foster, adoptive, and kinship caregivers, as well as social workers and counselors in Saskatchewan, Canada. In Saskatchewan, 70% of children in foster care are First Nations, carrying the weight of generational trauma rooted in the residential school system. Many First Nations adults today were separated from their families as children, told that their culture was wrong, and stripped of their language and identity. Trauma-informed care offers a path toward healing and resilience, and we’re committed to supporting these communities. Our team is committed to making this training accessible and impactful. We’re offering free training for any First Nations individual interested in becoming an Affiliate Trainer, empowering community-led healing. While there, we joined the community in recognizing the Orange Shirt Day, a day of remembrance in Canada that honors the Indigenous children forced to attend residential schools and acknowledges the lasting impact of these schools on their communities. Wearing shirts that say 'Every Child Matters,' we were grateful to stand with the Saskatchewan community in their journey toward resilience and healing. #TraumaInformedCare #SocialWork #FosterCare #FirstNations #CommunityHealing #EveryChildMatters #NonprofitTraining #HealingTrauma

Replanted Ministry provides trauma-informed resources and community-based support to families, recognizing that the presence of a supportive network is one of the strongest predictors of positive outcomes. We’re honored to connect with organizations like Replanted that share our vision for trauma-informed care.
