#DYK Did you know that trees encourage better driving? 🌳 Tree-lined streets have fewer occurrences of speeding, road rage, and accidents as trees can help drivers feel more relaxed and less frustrated. 🌳 A 2006 study found that using trees to line roadways could decrease average speeds by 8 mph due to the roads appearing narrower. 🌳 The visual wall created by trees can help keep drivers on the road and in their lane. 🌳 Trees as roadside features can reduce the number of mid-block crashes by 5% to 20%, as well as reduce the chances of head-on crashes when they're placed in the median. Learn some more facts below: 🌲Yaupon holly is used today to make tea, and it is the only plant native to North America that contains caffeine. 🌲Yaupon holly trees are dioecious, meaning the tree has separate male and female plants.
