However, the structural damage that occurs inside the hair after heat styling is less well studied. This presentation will share the changes in internal hair structures observed using SEM of sectioned hair samples. This study also investigates the effects of repeated heat straightening on hair curl. Experimental data will reveal how heat styling damage can permanently affect hair curl levels. Together the data shared in this presentation will reveal new insights into the mechanisms and consequences of heat styling damage.
