As my son grew up, I started to notice something. At first, it was the little things—how he repeated phrases I said, how he tried to walk like me, how he mimicked my mannerisms. But as he got older, it became something much bigger. He wasn’t just watching me. He was studying me. How I handled challenges. How I responded to setbacks. How I made decisions when things got hard. And that’s when it hit me—one day, he’s going to be in my shoes, facing his own defining moments. And when that happens, he’ll ask himself: "What did my dad do when he was in my situation?" That realization changed everything for me. It’s easy to focus on building a legend—chasing success, making an impact, leaving a mark. But what really matters is the legacy we create—the example we set, the values we pass down, the blueprint we leave for the next generation. And at the end of the day, no matter what I build in business, no matter what I achieve in life, the behavior my kids model is the most important legacy I will leave behind. A legend is remembered for what they accomplished. A legacy is carried forward by those they inspired.

Two advisors. Same market. Same opportunity.   One struggles to grow. The other scales effortlessly.   The difference? One thinks like an advisor. The other thinks like a business owner.   Here’s how business owners win:   🔴 An advisor says: “Marketing is expensive.” 🟢 A business owner says: “Marketing is an investment.”   🔴 An advisor “hopes” referrals will come to them 🟢 A business owner intentionally builds a business where referrals occur   🔴 An advisor applauds their own performance 🟢 A business owner applauds their teams' performance   🔴 An advisor thinks in terms of production 🟢 A business owner thinks in terms of maturity of the business as a whole   🔴 An advisor thinks in terms of sales and marketing 🟢 A business owner thinks in terms of operations and the client experience   Are you thinking like an advisor or a business owner?

Loved seeing Triad Partners taking a flexible stance on hybrid work! Anyone in full support of requiring their entire team to come in person anymore?

After JPMorgan Chase announced employees will have to be in the office five days a week starting in March, it felt like all of Wall Street was ready to get back to the cubicles, water coolers, and Zoom-less meetings. However, large pockets of the financial industry are still embracing flexible work schedules — especially independent firms. Thank you to Sara Baker, JD, LLM and Michael P. Connaughton, CFP®, CLU®, ChFC® for their insight on this topic. https://lnkd.in/eYPfqNkU

One of the best parts of my job is celebrating the accomplishments of great people in our company. Huge congrats to Lyndsy Dvorak for becoming a Cerfitied Scrum Master (CSM)! You are such an inspiration to the team and are one of the hardest working people I know. Thank you for being committed to being a lifelong learner and leading by example. So excited for what’s ahead! The only thing you’re missing in your life and that could take your awesomeness to the next level is taking the plunge and adding a GSP to your pack. 😂 #leadershipinaction #dogsarelife Triad Wealth Partners | Triad Partners

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned in business? When you’re a small team—5 people in a room—it’s easy to stay aligned. Communication flows naturally, and everyone tends to be on the same page. But as your business grows, so does the complexity of your team. Suddenly, you have 20+ people with different backgrounds, perspectives, and ways of thinking. At first, this feels like a challenge—people don’t always agree, and finding common ground isn’t as simple. But here’s a mindset shift: if you choose to see those differences as a problem, they will become one. If you view them as an advantage, it will be the greatest advantage you have. By having a broader set of perspectives come together with a common mission, it will drive more well rounded direction, decisions, and greater impact. The best teams aren’t made up of people who all think the same—they’re made up of people who think differently and come together as one. So if you’re growing and notice there are differences among your team —be grateful. For those differences will make you better & are essential to fulfilling your full potential in business and life. #DBDL

  • How to Beat Imposter Syndrome—You Don’t. You don’t overcome imposter syndrome by waiting until you feel ready. You build confidence by taking action anyway. Jon Acuff tells us in this episode that the more you try, the more you learn—and the more you prove to yourself that you’re capable. Stop waiting. Start doing.
