TrueNorth Medical Physics is headed to Knoxville for the 2025 Southeast Chapter of the American Association of Physicians in Medicine symposium and meeting. TrueNorther Adam Hall will be manning our SEAAPM booth and sharing information about how we’re charting a better way forward in medical physics. Find out about our services, job opportunities, TrueNorth swag, the official TrueNorth Super Bowl pick, and try to help us convince Adam to go to the top of the Sunsphere for a TrueNorth selfie.... while facing true north, of course. Make sure to stop by and visit Adam next week. #SEAAPM #Medphys

A medical physics company with clinical and industry experience to meet your commissioning and clinical needs.
About us
Hi! Did you stumble across one of our fun LinkedIn posts and want to learn more about TrueNorth? Then let us introduce ourselves. We are a physicist owned medical physics practice group. No private equity here! If you are looking for help, you've come to the right place! We specialize in helping cancer clinics with commissioning, physics and dosimetry support: remote, hybrid, on-site… you name it. Those smiling faces on LinkedIn aren't Al, but real people. We also dabble in software development, consulting, and love to partner with other physics groups, so they don't have to sell to private equity. If you are looking to join the best physics group in the US, you've also come to the right place! We have a unique model where the more you work, the more you earn. Some of our physicists have doubled their income after coming to work for us. We also have the best benefits money can buy (we cover 90% of the cost) and profit sharing as well. We believe that the best way to build a sustainable company is to focus on the long-term and that means if we do better, you do better.

The TrueNorth Medical Physics team doesn’t take it sitting down when one of our team is found to be really capable, easy to work with, and just all-around likeable. That is why, after joining us last April and continually showing his vast knowledge and experience, as well as an ability to work well with every client he meets, we have decided to do something about our very own Dave Park…. We decided to promote him. Please congratulate, TrueNorth Medical Physics’ new Senior Director of Commissioning, David Park. In his new position, Dave said he looks forward to continuing to learn from every site he visits, and wants to continue to improve himself and lift up those around him. He knows the work can be challenging, but said being able to work with the wonderful people around him makes it all worthwhile. Please don’t tell him, but we think Dave is pretty wonderful, too. Congrats and three cheers to you Dave. We look forward to working and growing right alongside you.

Get Ready for a whole new TrueNorth in 2025! Just kidding. We’re going to continue to be the same awesome company that is charting a better path forward for the medical physics industry. In 2025, we’ll still be the company that… · Is run by medical physicists that make decisions based on science, not just the bottom line. · Occasionally uses horrific A.I. art because most of us can’t draw, and because all of us are amused by it. · Our team likes so much, they’re bringing friends & family on board. · May be a bit obsessed with the Puppy Booth was saw at ASTRO D.C. this Fall (who wants a Puppy Booth at AAPM?). · Never changes the terms or costs of a contract once we sign it. · Practices “Unreasonable Hospitality.” · Tries to have a little fun, while providing the best medical physics services in the industry. Make it a New Year’s resolution to Follow TrueNorth Medical Physics in 2025.

TrueNorth Medical Physics reposted this
I just had the wonderful opportunity to commission the second Edge linear accelerator at the Radiotherapy Service Department of Champalimaud Foundation in Lisbon, Portugal. It was a busy but productive week as we worked closely with the physics team to ensure their readiness for the go-live date, which was set for just a week after the installation was accepted. Our collaboration with their radiation therapy team has been long-standing; in 2014, we helped commission their first Edge linear accelerator, one of the first to be used globally in a clinical setting (https://lnkd.in/eTAvaHQT). We also supported their TrueBeam and HyperArc commissioning projects. This lasting partnership has not only enhanced our professional ties but has also blossomed into personal friendships. Special thanks to Prof. Dr. Carlo Greco, Sandra Vieira, and Dalila Mateus for choosing to work with MPSi once again … and for the incredible views and sunsets just outside their clinic (sunny and warm in December!). Happy Holidays everyone!

TrueNorth is officially ceding the air to Santa as our teams are done spreading holiday cheer until 2025. The past few weeks have been packed ones as we’ve been busy fulfilling the wishes of every hospital and clinic on the Good List. From QA and vacation coverage to commissionings for LINACS new and old, our TrueNorthers have been putting on the miles. Here’s a small sample of the itineraries for just some of the team.... · Matt Daniels hopped around (taking terrible selfies) from Las Vegas to Boise, Idaho and then finally Ocala, Florida. · Adam Hall spread TrueNorth joy from Santa Fe to Rapid City, Iowa. · Robert Barton kept it to warmer climates while hitting Houston and Pensacola. · And we kid you not, NOËL Christian was in SANTA Fe last week. Now it’s time catch up on some gift-wrapping and settle down for a recharging long winter’s nap. Happy Holidays from TrueNorth Medical Physics. #HappyHolidays #SelfieSavior #TrueNorth Photo Caption: TrueNorthers Robert Staton (who takes a great selfie!), Matt Daniels and Paul Jason at Advanced Prostate Cancer Institute – Ocala. Once again joining the TrueNorth team was University of Florida PhD student (and future TrueNorther), Matthew Frain. On the right we have Raymond Rodebaugh, medical physicist at the new clinic, Advanced Prostate Cancer Institute – Ocala.

No trip to Vegas can be complete without at least one questionable photo, and for our job in Vegas last week it’s this photo. The TrueNorth team of Matt Daniels, Paul Jason and Jeff Hou were joined by Varian service engineer par excellence, Marcello Maxey at a job last week for Oncology Las Vegas. We were able to rearrange our schedule to accommodate Oncology Las Vegas and help resurrect an old Varian TrueBeam to once again treat patients…. all while taking what we’re nominating for the just made up “Worst TrueNorth Commissioning Selfie of the Year” award. On-site physicist Mark Reeher also lent a hand, but somehow managed to dodge being in the selfie we took. TrueNorth Medical Physics may not always bring our selfie A-game, but we’ll always bring the best medical physics and commissioning skills in the industry. (And we’ll keep working on those selfies.) #SelfieDisaster

The decision to be “unreasonable” is not something we’d have ever been able to do when we were part of a larger corporation. But since we’re pulling the strings now.... A few months back some of the TrueNorth team read the book Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara. It’s about Guidara and his team at a Michelin-starred restaurant in NYC, going above and beyond for their customers and co-workers – being “unreasonable” by doing things like buying a sled for a family who’d never seen snow and taking them sledding in Central Park, or filling a private dining room with sand and beach chairs to console a couple who’d had to cancel an important vacation. Now we’re not in the habit of ruining precious equipment with beach sand, and we’ll never be able to help our clients in Florida go sledding, but we have tried to find ways to practice Unreasonable Hospitality in our own ways. Since reading the book, we’ve bought pizzas for a clinic in Iron Mountain, Michigan, and hired an ice cream truck in Pensacola. We’ve brought in a barista to a clinic in Panama City and satisfied everyone’s sugar cravings with piles of donuts and cookies in Daphne, Alabama and Boise. And we can’t forget the Bundt cakes we supplied to a clinic in Murray, Utah – they were almost gone before we got them all unloaded from the car. It’s all been wonderful fun for our clients, but for our team members as well. We’re not going to kid ourselves and pretend that TrueNorth is the only medical physics company out there – even though we are VERY GOOD at what we do. Practicing Unreasonable Hospitality is not only a way for us to stand out, or make our clients feel even more important than they already are. It allows all of us at TrueNorth Medical Physics to create a successful company that is also fulfilling. And we’re not done learning how to be Unreasonable! We’re going to keep working to make every job memorable (and maybe a little magical) for both our clients and our team. It’s just something we want to do. If you’d like to share with us a time when Unreasonable Hospitality made your day, suggest a book for the TrueNorth Book Club, or even join the book club, contact us at info@truenorthmedphys.com. #UnreasonableHospitality #NoSleddingInFlorida

It’s a week to be thankful, and besides time off with loved ones and an opportunity to watch too much football, the team at TrueNorth has something else to be thankful for this year. As of early November, TrueNorth has a new partner in the world of independent medical physics companies. While we’ve worked together in the past (including two joint commissionings earlier this year with its founder Gloria Beyer), we are now officially BFFs with Medical Physics Services LLC – MPS. Having touted our bona fides just last week, this is more evidence that TrueNorth is a company that values collaboration over competition. Just like mashed potatoes pair perfectly with gravy, MPS’ 20 years of commissioning experience in Europe and the United States, and their expertise in areas like small field commissioning, will pair perfectly with TrueNorth Medical Physics’ own talents, vision and plucky can-do attitude. We are working together to chart a better path forward in the world of medical physics – as only two independent and forward-thinking companies can. Thank you to Gloria and the whole MPS team. We’re thankful for you and all the adventures we’ll have going forward. Happy Thanksgiving.
