THIS BRAIN-ROT HACKATHON IS JUST AWESOME! 🚀 Thank you so much and lots of love, Audrey Chen, I'm having the BEST time! 💖 First off, PearAI is AMAZING. I’ve only been using it for a few hours, and it’s already blowing my mind. I chose the PearAI track, and let me tell you, this tool is going to be a total game-changer. I’m excited to explore how it will help me bring my project to life. It’s smooth, intuitive, and so skibidi-efficient. (Yes, I had to say it, it’s the Brain-rot Hackathon, after all! 😎💀) P.S. Apologies in advance for my obsession with the word skibidi, but we’re here to embrace the chaos, right? This hackathon is so much fun and a great learning experience while enjoying every bit of it. Not only is PearAI making things easier and more fun, but it’s also helping me save time and focus on the creative aspects. I can’t wait to see what I’ll create and will try to unleash its full potential in my project! Stay tuned for a more detailed post about my experience using PearAI once I finish my project! For now, I’m focused on brainstorming and building, and I’m grateful to be part of this brain-rot hackathon community. ( thanks to this Brain-rot Hackathon, I’ve gotten the chance to be my authentic self on LinkedIn 😭 ). #BrainrotHackathon #Cvrvey #Innovative #PearAI #MemenomeAI #Retell #ConversationalAI #morganyoung #trypearai

I just quit my 270 000$ job at Coinbase to join the first ever YCombinator fall batch for the next 3 months with my cofounder Nathan Ang. We are building the ultimate open source AI code editor of the future, PearAI. Think a better Copilot, or open source Cursor. We launched 3 weeks ago and already have over 300 daily active users. We're a fork of VSCode (and Continue.dev!), so you can maintain familiarity and functionalities, and not worry about switching effort costs. People who have been using it so far expressed that PearAI has up to 5x’d their work and development speed by having AI integrated features such as the ability to talk to your codebase directly. Students also said this accelerated their learning tremendously, with features like /leetcode and /sensei for beginner friendly tasks. Why does open source matter for a code editor? The moat is not in the AI models, the best model on the market will be used by any of these editors out there (except Copilot, which actually still uses GPT4 Turbo lol). This means the true differentiators will be UI/UX, trust, transparency, community support, and distribution. These are all perfectly aligned with open source. PearAI currently has the most active open source community out of these AI code editors. Unlike most open source projects that are mostly just 1-2 people contributing, PearAI has around 49% of its commits (not counting those by the OSS projects underneath!) made by contributors, spanning from our landing page, server and app itself. This explains our extremely fast development cycle. Code editors are the best products to be open source, because each developer are users themselves of the product! Not only is our code open source, us as founders, are “open source” as well! We post our entire development journey and life online, through our YouTube channel and Twitch livestreams. This is the root of why we have such a strong community right off the start. Try it out and let me know how you like it! We have a built-in free trial, download for free at https://lnkd.in/e5PeBamv :) Here's a quick demo where I make a documentation page for our landing site without writing a single line of code!
