    Founder and CEO

I love to solve problems, finding simple, economical, and pragmatic ways to do something better. The FitFoot journey started after attending a conference on Venous Thromboembolism, blood clots. Leaving the auditorium, I was convinced we could do better, was determined to “fix it”, and set off to do just that. I initially relied on my husband’s engineering background and later, my 4 children, who would serve as the guinea pigs for the ever evolving design. Along the way I assembled a great team who helped propel FitFoot forward and eventually over the finish line. FitFoot took shape over 10 plus years. I’ve learned much during that time, such as patience, persistence, listening to other’s ideas, being open to new ways to accomplish a goal, and the importance of of team work. From my family, friends and IP attorneys to the engineers, business consultants, and marketing team, let me say thank you for making this possible. Sincerely, Mary Anne Tarkington MD

  • Ankle injuries are unfortunately a part of playing sports. But just how big a part are they? ⚫Between 2009 and 2015, 1,445 NFL players suffered ankle injuries. That’s 53.2% of athletes! 🔵In soccer, 20% of injuries are ankle sprains. ⚫Throughout 5 seasons in the NBA, players sustained 554 ankle injuries leading to 2 to 10-game absences. 🔵Basketball, soccer, and American football incur the most ankle injuries. If it can happen to pro athletes, it can happen to any of us. Take these steps to protect your ankles: Remember to wear proper footwear, warm up before playing, and always stretch.
